Today marks two decades of caring, compassion, and connection. For 20 years, Home Instead has been helping older adults live with dignity, purpose, and comfort in their own homes — growing from a single idea into a trusted national network of care.

💜 We’re proud that this commitment to quality continues to shine through:
🏆 Gold Winner at the 2024 Home Care Awards
⭐ _The UK’s most recommended home care company for the 10th year running on _homecare.co.uk — with 38 local offices featured in the Top 20 regional lists.

From the very beginning, our guiding principle has been simple: To us, it’s personal. Whether it’s building meaningful relationships, supporting families, or empowering our Care Professionals, that belief is stronger than ever.

Here’s to 20 years of making a real difference in people’s lives — and to all the chapters still to come. 💜

United Nations International Day of Older People 💜

Older people play a vital role in our local communities — as caregivers, volunteers, activists, and connectors across generations. Today, we celebrate those contributions and reflect on this year’s UK theme: the importance of connection.

Because ageing doesn’t mean disconnection. From retirement to changing health, later life brings both challenges and new opportunities to build relationships that keep us involved, supported, and valued. 🌟

One way we support this locally is through the Lavender Lounge in Binfield — a dementia-friendly community café where people can come together to relax, chat, and connect. Our next session is on Thursday 9th October, 10:30am–12:00pm at the Foxes Den. No need to book — just come along.

At Home Instead Ascot, Camberley & Wokingham, we’re proud to walk alongside older adults and their families every day, helping them stay connected to the people and places that matter most.

As World Alzheimer’s Month comes to an end, one fact stands out: over a third of UK adults worry someone they know may have undiagnosed dementia.

Talking openly about dementia matters. It helps families access support sooner, make plans, and ensure loved ones live with dignity and comfort. 💜

We’re proud to stand with Alzheimer's Society in shining a light on dementia awareness and care.

“💬 “Dad’s just out of hospital... how do I make sure he doesn’t lose his independence?”

It’s a question many families face after a hospital stay. You want your loved one to recover safely — but also to feel confident and not held back.

Our Live-in Care provides consistent, one-to-one support in the comfort of home. With encouragement, structure, and care tailored to each person’s goals, we help people rebuild confidence and quality of life.

Take Brian’s story. After leaving hospital at 90, his wish was simple: to feel the sun on his face in his own garden again. With the daily support of his Live-in Care Pro Kundi, and encouragement from Care Pro Laura, Brian regained strength step by step. With their help, he was able to enjoy that special moment outdoors once again.

Because great care isn’t just about safety. It’s about supporting people to keep living life their way.

💬 “Mum just doesn’t seem interested in food anymore. How can I make sure she’s eating well?”

Eating well in later life isn’t just about what’s on the plate — it’s about making mealtimes enjoyable and balanced.

From adapting to changing tastes, to offering smaller portions and regular snacks, a little support goes a long way — especially for those living with dementia. 💜

Our Care Professionals undergo full nutrition and hydration training, giving them the skills and ideas to adapt meals to each client’s needs. And because we cook from scratch, meals are not only nutritious but tailored with care.
