We are pleased to share an important step forward for health and wellbeing in Bracknell Forest.

On 26 March, our Public Health team brought together local partners and organisations to begin shaping a new approach to supporting healthy weight across our community.

A Whole Systems Approach to Healthy Weight recognises that obesity is not just about individual choices, it is shaped by a complex mix of factors across our lives.

This session was the start of a collaborative effort to explore what a joined up and realistic approach could look like for Bracknell Forest. Over the coming months, we will continue working with partners to develop ideas, priorities and plans.

There is still more work to do, but this marks a positive step in the right direction and we are committed to keeping the conversation going.

Thank you to everyone who continues to share their views and support this work.

Nothing in our lives is more important than our health & the more we ignore it, the greater the risks.

Having the NHS Health Check when we’re invited by our GP practice can spot problems early enough for them to be successfully treated. Ignoring the opportunity could allow a minor health problem to become a major one.

NHS Health Check invitations are sent out by GP practices to eligible patients in the 40–74 age group.
