🦴 Strong bones, steady steps—it’s World Osteoporosis Day and time to take action.

Osteoporosis can creep in quietly, making fractures more likely after a fall or even a sneeze.

Vitamin D is one of the simplest ways to help. It boosts calcium absorption, supports muscle strength, and helps keep your bones resilient—especially through the darker months.

💡 Take that extra walk, soak up what daylight you can, and add a little sunshine supplement to your routine. Small steps, strong bones.

🦴 Bone and Joint Week – Movement, Equity, and Early Care

It’s Bone and Joint Week 2025—a national campaign highlighting musculoskeletal health and the need for earlier, fairer access to care. Across the UK, MSK conditions remain a leading cause of pain, disability, and lost work days, affecting an estimated 20 million people in the UK, accounting for nearly one third of the population. These conditions encompass a wide range of issues, including arthritis, back pain, and osteoporosis.

At Active Body Care Osteopathy, we’re focusing on movement to support your musculoskeletal health, encouraging you to Move Better, Feel Stronger.

Movement isn’t just about fitness—it’s about helping your body work better. Regular activity supports your bones, keeps your joints moving smoothly, and helps your muscles and nervous systems stay coordinated. Gentle, repeatable movement can ease tension and support recovery. Small changes—like a short walk or a few minutes of mobility—add up to big differences over time.

🤸‍♂️ If pain or stiffness is limiting you or preventing you from moving as well as you would like, then this is a good week to ease back in. Osteopathy can help, we can use hands on therapy, movement and exercises to support your next step and gain back that freedom of movement you have been missing.

How confident would you feel to save a life? Could you perform CPR in an emergency? Just 15 minutes of your time could be enough to make a difference, thanks to the

As it was this week, it served as a timely reminder to refresh my CPR skills with this brilliantly simple interactive guide from the BHF called RevivR.

Whether you are already first aid trained, or this is new to you, investing 15 minutes of your time could make a very real difference. In the privacy of your own home, RevivR helps you practice CPR compressions and teaches you how to use a defibrillator.

What could you do in 15 minutes? Drink your next coffee or learn to save a life? Give it a go, it could mean the world to someone.

What would you do if somebody’s heart stopped? A cardiac arrest can happen to anyone, anywhere, at any time. Our new, free digital tool RevivR will teach you...

Are you coming to see me this week? The rhododendrons are out!

The photos don't do these beauties justice, so if you are heading up to see me, or if you are taking a stroll in Lily Hill Park this week then take a moment to find the rhododendrons in all their glory.

Head down to the car park behind the House, go through the gate, follow the path and cross the little wooden bridge into Starch Copse, it's worth it!

Look familiar anyone? I'm pretty sure this prawn has more than back ache, my money is on neck pain and headaches thrown in to the mix too!

Laptops are not posture friendly but it seems alot of us are stuck using them instead of a conventional desktop.

Making 3 key changes can help free you from the perils of Prawn Posture:

1. Raise your screen height up to eye level

2. Use an external mouse and keyboard to allow you the freedom to correctly position your screen.

3. Sit back in your chair and bring your chair forward towards your desk to avoid leaning in.

Check your desk set up and see where you can help yourself. Your back will thank you for it!

Thank you to the patient that shared this with me ☺
