This , we’re celebrating the difference our care can make. 💛

We’re proud to share words from one of our patients, who accessed support from our NHS Berkshire Talking Therapies Employment Support Service while looking for a job.

With guidance to break the process into manageable steps, and tailored support to prepare for interviews, she was able to build confidence and feel more in control. As someone who is neurodivergent, having that extra understanding and support made a real difference to her journey.

Listening to patient experiences helps us continue to learn, adapt and provide care that truly meets individual needs.

It helps communicate your needs, including sensory preferences, communication style, and what might feel overwhelming. Complete it yourself or with a staff member’s support. https://ow.ly/YhR550Yvg9P

Call 999 for an ambulance or go to your nearest A&E immediately if you think you or someone you look after could have meningitis.

🌟 We’re Hiring Activity Co‑ordinators at Prospect Park Hospital!

Do you enjoy bringing people together, getting creative, and making a positive difference? Our Acute Mental Health Wards in Reading are looking for friendly, empathetic Activity Co‑ordinators to join the team.

You’ll plan and lead activities that support patients’ wellbeing and recovery — from arts and crafts and music to games, gentle exercise, relaxation sessions, and themed events. You’ll also have the chance to bring your own ideas to life.

This is a people‑focused, activity‑led role, ideal for anyone with experience in community work, youth engagement, events, hospitality, leisure, the arts, or creative facilitation. Experience in mental health settings is helpful but not essential.

We operate seven days a week, with shifts typically 11am–7pm or 1pm–9pm, working alongside another Activity Co‑ordinator.

If you’re passionate about helping others, feel connected and supported, we’d love to hear from you. Apply today 👉https://www.berkshirehealthcare.nhs.uk/work-with-us/our-vacancies #!/job/UK/Berkshire/Reading/Berkshire_Healthcare_NHS_Foundation_Trust/Daisy_PPH/Daisy_PPH-v7881067?_ts=327

Thanks to a £135,000 grant from NHS Charities Togethers' Greener Communities Fund, secured by Berkshire Healthcare Charity, designs are underway for a brand-new nature trail at Prospect Park Hospital.

The trail will provide a calming, therapeutic outdoor space for patients, families and staff. We’re excited to have the support of the Berks, Bucks and Oxon Wildlife Trust - BBOWT to design the space which will include:

👩‍🦽 An accessible looping pathway
🌹 Plants and flowers to engage the senses
🪑 Shaded seating areas
🧑‍🌾 Therapeutic horticulture zones
🤫 A dedicated quiet space
🐞 Wildlife homes, insect hotels and a shallow pond

This green space will enable occupational therapists, psychologists and physiotherapists deliver outdoor therapies to support emotional regulation, sensory integration physical activity and social connection. It will also offer staff a much‑needed restorative space during busy shifts.

Watch this space to see what grows.🌱 Find out more on our website: https://ow.ly/JPJC50YuHPo

💚 The Greener Communities fund is a partnership between NHS Charities Together and Hubbub supported by Starbucks UK.
