🚨Marathon Alert🚨

As we enter the final few weeks in the run up to the London Marathon many of you may be preparing to hit that start line 🏃‍♂

I had an interesting conversation with a patient who is training hard for the London marathon and was asking my advice regarding changing his trainers. Whilst on a personal level I am an advocate of minimalist footwear and am steadily transitioning to that style in my own running, it's not for everybody and certainly changing too much close to a race can be problematic. Go for comfort and what you're used to and you can then think about changing in the months post race.

I have been working with a couple of marathon runners providing sports massage sessions as they prepare for the Berlin marathon a week on Sunday. It’s been brilliant watching their progress and seeing their incredible training efforts. Playing a small part in their journey has been fantastic and I know they’ll both do really well come race day.

With winter around the corner I feel very lucky to be able to get out in the daylight during the day. A lovely run around Windsor Great Park this afternoon punctuated with plenty of photo stops ( nothing to do with feeling exhausted!!)

This was a very emotive and thought provoking moment in my time working as the Binfield FC physio, a role that I absolutely love doing alongside my daily clinic. The positive outcome and togetherness of a team of human beings will live me forever.

Always feels really rewarding seeing someone getting back to doing what they love. Had this lad out on the grass early today, pushing him hard after a challenging knee injury a few months ago, he’s worked really hard and is looking good to getting back to playing for the start of next season.
