🙃 We all had one... the baby name we absolutely loved but never got to use.

👉 Maybe your partner said no. Maybe it just didn’t suit your little one when they arrived. Maybe you’re saving it for another day.

👍 Tell us in the comments, what baby name did you love but didn’t use?

🙌 Bonus points if you tell us why it didn’t make the final cut…

💙 Tag any parents to be who might want some name inspiration!

😎 The days are getting warmer, the evenings are getting lighter, and summer is definitely in the air!

👶 Is your little one due this month?

💚 May babies are extra special. Their birthstone is the gorgeous emerald, their flower is the delicate lily of the valley, and they’ll be either a determined Ta**us ♉️ or a curious Gemini ♊️ depending on when they arrive.

👍 Tag a parent-to-be expecting their May baby.

❓ Would you know how to help a child having an asthma attack?

🥺 Asthma is a medical condition that affects the airways – the tubes that carry air in and out of the lungs. When someone has an asthma attack, these tubes become inflamed and narrowed, making it difficult to breathe.

‼️Someone having an asthma attack will have difficulty breathing and speaking, and may cough and wheeze. They may be very anxious and distressed as they struggle to breathe. In serious cases, their lips and finger nails may turn greyish-blue because of a lack of oxygen in their body.

➡️ If a child has an asthma attack:

1️⃣ Sit them up and loosen tight clothing (do not lie them down)
2️⃣ Help them to use their reliever inhaler. (usually blue)
3️⃣ They can take one or two puffs every 30 or 60 seconds up to 10 puffs. (Shake inhaler in between puffs)
4️⃣ Call 999 if no better. (See below)
5️⃣ If necessary repeat step 3 if the child’s condition hasn’t improved and the ambulance hasn’t arrived.

👍 A baby or child having an asthma attack should use a spacer to help them take their medication. A spacer, like the one pictured, is a hollow cylinder that attaches to an inhaler. It can help the child to take their medication more effectively.

🚑 Call 999 if they:

🔹 are having their first attack
🔹 are finding it difficult to talk or make a noise
🔹 are becoming exhausted
🔹 aren’t helped by their inhaler
🔹 don’t have any asthma medication with them
🔹 get worse
🔹 stop breathing

💙 Tummy time helps your little one build the strength they need for rolling, sitting, crawling, and even walking later on! It also helps prevent flat spots on the back of their head.

👉 You can start from birth by laying your baby on your chest (just make sure you’re wide awake and not as risk of falling asleep). Gradually build it up day by day, and when they’re ready, move tummy time to the floor.

💙 Tummy time helps strengthen your baby’s back, neck, and shoulders — and gives them a whole new view of the world.

❓Baby not loving tummy time yet? Don’t worry — that’s completely normal!

🤩 Here are a few ways to make it easier:

👉Lay baby on your chest or lap
👉Sing, talk, and play during tummy time
👉Place toys within easy reach
👉Use a small rolled-up towel under their arms for support

💙 Try a little bit every day and build up slowly — your baby will get stronger and more confident before you know it.

…unless they are yours 🫶🏼

👶🏻 Newborns are tiny, perfect and vulnerable.

💋 It’s so tempting to shower a new baby with kisses, but it’s important to remember that kissing a newborn can put them at serious risk ‼️

Babies have very fragile immune systems. Even a simple cold sore (caused by the herpes virus) can be life-threatening for them.

Other common infections like RSV (a respiratory virus) can also lead to severe illness.

⚠️ The NHS advises to:

Avoid kissing newborns, especially if you’re feeling unwell, have a cold sore, or even mild cold symptoms.
Wash your hands before touching a baby.
Stay away if you’re feeling even slightly under the weather.

💙 It’s all about keeping these tiny humans safe while they grow stronger! 🌼

👉 Is your school ready for BENEDICT’S LAW❓

🔹Big changes are coming for allergy safety in schools.

👉 The new guidance places a clear focus on training, preparedness and protecting children with allergies.

‼️ It’s not enough to have medication in a cupboard. Staff need confidence, systems to follow and practical training.
Because in an emergency, every second matters.

🤧 Did you know 10–15% of UK children experience hay fever, according to Allergy UK?

🤧 Symptoms like itchy eyes, sneezing, and a runny nose can really impact sleep, school, and everyday life — and sometimes, hay fever is mistaken for a virus!

📆 If symptoms last more than a couple of weeks (especially from March–September) and improve in winter, it’s likely to be due to allergies.

👉 TOP TIPS to help reduce your child’s pollen exposure:
🔹Keep windows closed at night
🔹Wraparound sunglasses
🔹Vaseline around the nostrils
🔹Wash hands, face, and hair after being outside
🔹Change clothes after outdoor play
🔹Keep car windows shut
🔹Sounds obvious but avoid grassy fields
🔹Use air filters at home
🔹Watch for worse symptoms early morning & evening on sunny days

👨‍⚕️ There are hay fever medicines available — but always check they’re child-friendly or ask your pharmacist if you're unsure.

👉 Save & share this with other parents!
