Sometimes life brings together people with a deep, inner understanding. This is how it was when Brigitte and I met in Switzerland. Two women, who love water – not only as an essential substance for maintaining overall body health, but as a nurturing space that remembers carries and heals.
We both support people in warm water. That’s what is Watsu about. Brigitte in Bern, a city located in the central-west part of Switzerland and I, Ingrid, in the South-west of England (closed to Bath, a city well-known for and named after its Roman-build baths).
Although many miles separate us, what moves us in the same way it is the profound experience of surrendering to water, letting the journey unfold and embracing flow.
Watsu (=Water Shiatsu), originated by Harold Dull from California, is not simply a method for us. It’s a language without words – a dance of trust and dedication:
The body softens, the breath expands and the soul may surface.
Our meeting was not a coincidence – it was a reminder that all over the world, there are people who live and work with a heart centred approach and that water knows no borders, but connects deeply.
If you are in Switzerland, visit Brigitte Hofer in Bern – she welcomes you with an open heart and accompanies you with great presence:

And if you are in the South-west of England and would like to experience a Watsu session, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with me, Ingrid.
