World Sexual Health Day (WSHD) was launched in 2010 to promote sexual health and wellbeing and has been celebrated on September 4th since then. The key reason behind this is to recognise that sexual health is a human right and ensure equal sexual rights globally across the world. Each year WSHD picks a different topic to talk about. The 2025 topic is “Sexual Justice: What Can We Do?”
There are 4 key themes in 2025, sexual rights, sexual and reproductive rights, access to information and LGBTQ+ Adolescents: Transgender, Gender-Diverse, Gay & Le***an Youth. The core message for the LGBTQ+ community is that sexual justice means affirming and defending the rights, dignity, needs, and identities of all LGBTQ+ people, especially trans, non-binary, gay, and le***an adolescents.
