Awwww we honestly love all of our patients 💓

“I wanted to leave Clare a review, but seeing as I’m old and antisocial (her words, not mine!), I don’t have access to Facebook — so I’m sending it this way for her to share.

A year ago, I had a stroke that left most of the left side of my body paralysed. Clare was already trimming my toenails at the time, and I asked if she knew of any alternative therapies that might help. She mentioned she was a reflexologist — in fact, she’d been doing reflexology even longer than footcare! I asked if it might help, and while she made no promises, she kindly offered to give it a go.

I was skeptical. If it didn’t come in a medicine bottle, I wasn’t sure it would do anything! But after a year of reflexology appointments every two weeks, I can honestly say it’s been amazing. I tell her she has healing hands — because she really does.

Each session starts with a good chat (usually involving one of Clare’s funny stories, which lifts my spirits), followed by her working her magic on my feet. She always gives me a rundown at the end of what she’s noticed, and reminds me to drink lots of water. I feel so much better afterwards — more balanced, less achey, and just healthier overall. When she doesn’t come, I really notice the difference.

Clare has played a huge part in my recovery, and I’m endlessly grateful. She’s amazing at footcare, but her skills go so far beyond that. I’ll keep booking in as long as she’ll have me!

🚨 A little reminder from Riley’s Footcare 🚨

Firstly, we just want to say a huge THANK YOU to all of our lovely patients for your patience and understanding recently. 💙

During a recent appointment, we had a poorly diabetic patient who became extremely unwell and required urgent medical attention and an ambulance due to suspected ketoacidosis. As healthcare professionals, our patient’s safety will always come first, even if this occasionally causes delays to appointments or replies.

We also want to send our patient lots of love and wish them a very speedy recovery. 💙

Diabetic ketoacidosis (DKA) can become serious very quickly, and it’s so important to know the warning signs:

⚠️ Excessive thirst
⚠️ Feeling very tired or drowsy
⚠️ Sickness or vomiting
⚠️ Stomach pain
⚠️ Fast or deep breathing
⚠️ Fruity-smelling breath
⚠️ Confusion or difficulty staying awake
⚠️ Very high blood sugars

If you or a loved one experiences these symptoms — especially alongside diabetes — please seek urgent medical advice immediately.

At Riley’s, we are not “just nail cutters.” We are trained professionals who assess overall foot health, circulation, skin integrity, diabetic risks, and safeguarding concerns every single day. Sometimes appointments involve far more than routine footcare, and we will always act in the best interests of our patients. 👣
