Clo-Ga Yoga Family

Clo-Ga Yoga Family A Grimbarian (lass from Grimsby) with a lot of love to share for yoga and community support I’m Chloe, a Grimbarian *(Girl from Grimsby) lass with a big heart.

I’m a superwoman *(Mum), *(nurse), partner and dog companion who loves to smile, be silly, get outdoors at any opportunity, and go on adventures with my incredible family! I first discovered yoga as a teeny Chloe aged 13! It was my Mum and I’s thing to do together, and the poses massively helped ease a chronic back problem. I accessed yoga again through university when I felt I didn’t fit it and,

consequently, struggled to cope with anxiety and depression. Yoga brought me back to me, particularly the mindfulness of movement, focus on breath and being in the present. I then qualified as a nurse and relied on yoga as a daily practice to enable me to feel energised and grounded whilst in a demanding role. Fast forward a couple (and some…) years later and I am now a Mum, dog companion, partner, and advanced nurse practitioner. As a parent, I felt that I was re-discovering my identity all over again! From initially, having a perfect balance of yoga and fun-ness in my life, to having very little free-time and sleepless nights, it was a balance of wonderful-ness yet incredibly tough. It was at this time, that I began to dig deeper into my yoga journey and became a trainee yoga teacher. This has been a game changer, learning yoga philosophy, exploring meditation and breath practices has really helped me quieten my mind and bring calmness and ease into my life, yes, even with a toddler running riot!! In addition, my physical body hasn’t felt better, and I’m the most confident I’ve felt. It is from this journey, that I whole-heartedly want to share my passion for yoga with you. I have a clear vision to work with women through pregnancy, post-natal and with parents and their new additions through yoga, by providing a safe and positive community for people to support, engage, laugh with, and encourage each other through this journey. About my classes....
My classes are accessible to everyone! The general underlying theme is to be your mental health’s biggest fan! I will introduce some nourishing rituals, incorporating fun but compassionate movement, whilst bringing a bit of heat to the body, and breathwork, (that, in all honesty, can look a little silly at times), that will help shift states of mind and leave you feeling ‘buzzing with happy energy.’

On Friday, and I learnt that our baby wasn't developing as expected so we have a tough few weeks ahead of us of, repeat scan (which is routine in the NHS at 7 weeks of pregnancy, 'just incase' but there is no hope) and 'management' of the miscarriage.

Today, I spent some time in the woods. Feeling the sun on my skin, that warmth glow like a temporary shield. Then we headed to the allotment, a place both of us find to be our comfort and where we have a little baby loss space there.

I am taking some time out of phones/social media/nursing/teaching yoga for a little while to allow grief in all it's forms and just be how I need to be.

I am so grateful that I have such a solid community within all my roles and through family/friend family. And I have a massive self care toolkit so I know that we'll come out the other side stronger and more sparkly than ever ✨

As we move into Spring, start to gently awaken and plant our 'seeds,' questions I ask myself are:
"What do I need?"
"What do I want?"

We can often feel powerless in both of these things, right!

So, my intention is this..."my journey is my own and I'm claiming it now." Some may think of this as selfish... especially when you're a parent/dependent. Ultimately though, your needs are so important! To radiate as your true awesome self 🙌🏻

This can be practised through yoga, how cool is that!!! (Well it is to me 🤪) This goddess, strengthening pose is a powerful pose utilising so many leg/glute/core/spinal muscles. My energy feels alive and strong when I hold this pose, a good one to start the day with!

In Hindu culture, Kali is a fierce goddess of time, death, destruction and liberation and she represents shakti - our FEMININE POWER! I like to channel her as I move through poses like this, it brings a sense of empowerment and connection to myself and to my nature.

I wanted to share this as it is a topic so very important to me. I've recently had a miscarriage after 2.5 years of secondary infertility.

I'm gently allowing my mind and body to feel it all with kindness and compassion. I'm so fortunate to have so many tools that I know, with time, I'll be ok. In the meantime, I take this time to be..

Thank you for all the words of comfort, support and hope, I'm so grateful to you 🙏🏻❤️

A slight change to venue but a warm welcome awaits you Mamma as we share anything that you bring to discuss in a safe and comfortable space.
I will then invite you to feel connected to your bodies as we move through some nourishing yoga-based stretches and playful strengthening poses.
