It’s Okay to Be Tired — A December Reflection

It’s okay to be tired.
December arrives with its long nights and early sunsets,
a month when even the sky seems to rest.
This is the darkest stretch of the year,
and our bodies feel it,
our minds feel it,
our hearts feel it too.
Nature isn’t asking for momentum now.
It’s whispering something softer:
Slow down. Breathe. Turn inward.
Even the trees release their last leaves
and stand quietly in their bare truth,
trusting that rest is part of the cycle.
So if your energy feels dimmer,
if motivation flickers like a candle in a draft,
know that nothing is wrong with you.
You are simply syncing with the season—
responding to what the earth already understands.
It’s okay to be tired in the darkest month.
Rest is not weakness;
it is wisdom.
It is the gentle pause that prepares you
for the light that will return.

Amazing… we plan to do this again ! 😊

Friday night at our Lantern Lit Procession~ Honouring the Magic, Myth and Wild Medicine of Ilkley at the Cow and Calf Rocks. We listened together to the voice of the Moors, the ancient Stones, the Giant Rombald & his (unnamed) wife...

We sang and drummed, we rattled and laughed!

We gathered blessings to carry down to the which began on Saturday morning and from the day that unfolded, the blessings were very powerful. Saturday was a wonderful day~ Filled with joyful connections and many charming gardeners of inspiration!

I was delighted to be visited by my dear friend
Rita Greer who was for many years my Shamanic Healer. She supported my through some of the toughest experiences in my life, always with great warmth and humbleness. AND! She recommend the amazing work of to me. I thought this work- Shamanic Work with children and young people sounded amazing. I bought Imelda's book, Natural Born Shamans, and my life changed forever. A few months later I travelled to London with my 6 month old daughter wrapped in a rainbow sling for The Shaman's Map, an introductory class to the Shamanic Way.
