Thank you all for your incredible support. We want to be able to help as many families as we can so its important for people to know where we are if they need us. It’s an honour & a privilege to do what we do every day.

D Walsh & Son idle is a lovely branch, and we have been inviting everyone to visit us, even just to say hello. We are loving being out in the community, meeting new people, and having meaningful conversations. Our charity organ has been a hit, bringing joy with its old tunes.

Welcome to our March/ April Newsletter! 🎉

We're thrilled to bring you updates on our upcoming events, seminars, and local community partnerships. Each month, our newsletter showcases some of the fantastic activities we have planned, and we hope you enjoy reading it! 🎉

Our mission is to transform how people view funeral directors. Typically, we're only seen during the toughest times, but we aim to change that. By engaging with local venues, giving talks, and participating in fairs, galas, market stalls, and schools, we strive to make conversations about this sensitive topic more comfortable.

At D Walsh & Son, we believe in showing our personal side and introducing you to the amazing team that goes above and beyond every day for our families and their loved ones. Our local community is as important to us as our rich history, and we are committed to providing the highest level of care and compassion.

Each month, we'll release a new edition of our newsletter via social media and email, with a paper version also available at our funeral home.

🎶 The Charity Organ is Back for 2026! 🎶

We’re pleased to share that we now have our confirmed dates for the charity organ this year, and we’re inviting local groups, care homes, and event organisers to get in touch to book it.

Dates we have the organ with us:
25th-30th May Limited spaces available
8th-15th June Limited spaces available
13th-17th July Limited spaces available
24th-28th Aug Limited spaces available
12th-16th Oct
23rd-29th Nov
17th-21st Dec

If you’re planning a community event, fundraiser or summer fair and would like the organ to be part of your day, we’d love to hear from you event if its not within the above dates we can see if we can get an available organ. It’s a wonderful way to bring people together while supporting a good cause.

Jayne is such a truly lovely lady who always goes above and beyond in her role, showing so much pride, compassion, and care in everything she does. She means so much to all of us, and we wanted to show just how appreciated she is by putting together a little care package to support her during her recovery. D Walsh & Son Idle Funeral Directors are collecting easter eggs for local causes again this year and we need your help.

We're asking local residents and businesses to join with us to spread a little extra joy this Easter, by donating Easter eggs.

🐰🥚🥚🐰

Any donations, large or small will be greatly received. If you would like to help, we will need donations by Friday 3rd April morning please, so we can make the deliveries.

You can drop off your donations to any of our funeral homes or contact us if you would like us to collect from you ❤️
