🍳 Myth: we should limit the number of eggs we eat because they contain cholesterol, and increase the cholesterol levels in your blood.
🥚 Busted: the cholesterol we eat doesn’t really impact the cholesterol in our blood – sounds a bit confusing, doesn’t it!
🧐 This misconception comes from early research where incorrect conclusions were made. It’s now been found that it’s our saturated fat intake that has the biggest impact on our cholesterol levels. Saturated fat is found in butter, cakes, fried foods, chocolate and pastry (and if you’re familiar with Slimming World’s Food Optimising you’ll know these are the foods that are already carefully measured to protect your weight loss). As for eggs, there’s no limit on how many we’re advised to enjoy – and with Slimming World they’re a Free Food meaning there’s no need to count or measure!
