New Vision Bradford

New Vision Bradford New Vision Bradford is the alcohol and drug service for people across the Bradford District.

Starting on 1 April 2023, we will be offering a range of support for people experiencing issues with substances from across Bradford, Keighley, Bingley, Ilkley, Shipley and all the towns and villages in the district. Our experienced, professional teams work together with individuals to develop a recovery plan that suits them. Everyone is provided with a dedicated worker to support them through their recovery journey.

Good morning! Today we are at Bradford Safeguarding Adult Board's Self-Neglect Conference at Britannia House , learning about how services we can best work together to identify and support people experiencing self-neglect.

Thank you for our partners at Bradford Council and Safer Bradford for inviting us to take part.

Just a reminder! There's less than one week left to apply.

There's another Β£5K up for grabs for people with ideas that support the Leeds recovery community. The panel is especially interested in ideas from people in recovery who have products/services to launch that need support.

πŸ‘‹Come and say HELLO!

This afternoon, from 1pm until 4pm, our Concerned Other Team are at Britannia House , celebrating with our friends from Carers' Resource Equality Together Making Space and The Caring Kind Project.

❀️ Carers UK mark Carers Rights Day each year to celebrate unpaid carers and raise awareness of their rights. This year's theme is: 'Know your rights, use your rights'.

πŸ’œ At New Vision Bradford, our Concerned Other service is here for anyone impacted by a loved one's alcohol or drug use. Many of the people we support find themselves in a caring role - often without recognition or support. On Carers' Rights Day, we want to highlight that you are not alone. Our team provides both emotional and practical help, empowering you to navigate challenges and prioritise your own wellbeing.

We are committed to ensuring that every concerned other feels heard, supported, and never isolated in their journey.

🌍 Celebrating International Men's Day 🌍

Today, we created space to celebrate our male colleagues as part of β€”a day that reminds us of the importance of wellbeing for everyone.

Our staff dedicate their working lives to supporting others, so it’s important that we also look after our own wellbeing. Today, we offered extended lunch breaks and pizza to encourage connection, conversation, and reflection.

At our Keighley event, a positive discussion emerged around men’s health and wellbeing, with colleagues agreeing to meet again to continue sharing ideas for mutual support.

Thank you to everyone who made the events possible!

Across the UK, there has been a rise in many illicit drugs, not just opioids, being contaminated with nitazenes.

Nitazenes are synthetic opioids that can be up to 500 times more potent than other opioids.

If you use any drugs, or know someone who does, it is important to be aware of the risks, know how to keep yourself and others safe, and what to do if things go wrong.

We can't quite believe that Halloween was one whole week ago! Thank you everyone who took part in our Halloween challenge πŸŽƒ

Here are some photos from the Halloween party that our recovery and aftercare team at Flourish Community Coffee Shop put on for the people who use the service. Great costumes, as we're sure you'll agree!
