'Knowing about trauma is not the same as knowing what to do when someone becomes overwhelmed'

This sentance hits hard. Having been in a position where I was overwhelmed in a situation which i didnt know my past was going to bite me on the bum. Mainly because i can go years without it doing so now, therefore its not always at the front of my brain. Funnily those who have worked through their Trauma/ PTSD dont walk around with it labled on thier head 😱 and dont have to disclose it, but instead we choose to put trust in those who are trauma informed should a unexpected situation arise.

But i was triggered, it happens, i knew how to bring myself back to the hear and now thankfully. (Not my first rodeo!)

Unfortunately the teacher who i put my trust in didnt know how to deal with that overwhelm. Thats ok, we cant know everything. But it is one of the major reasons why i learn, why i have thrown myself at a master course to learn and to be able to support anyone who should need it in the future.

To support a student or friend in that moment of overwhelm speaks more than words ever can to me. And im greatful for the teachers and support network who have held me when that overwhelm has happened.

Happy Cheese week.

I hope you wonderful lot have had an amazing christmas and getting some well deserved rest.

I'm on my 3rd day of no study, no work, no house renos, just sleep, snuggles and family time. Its so well needed for this little yogi.

Remembering to stop and take a moment to be present, listening to your own needs and wants may be the only yoga you do over this christmas period but its the most authentic yoga thing you can do.

Yoga is a way of life not just the asanas!

Raw and honest Caz incoming.

I aplogise for being so distant on soical media and I Thank all my class attendees and supporters over the last few months.

I, who never does anything in halves, that would be boring. Along with my masters, life and businesses. Decided it would be a good idea to renovate our house before Christmas 🤯🫣

We are now 2/3 of the way into the work. Hopefully a few weeks left. I am beyond tired, so very burnt out, my body is achy and a couple of issues are flaring, also I cant wait to have a fully functioning bedroom and bathroom back!

The house mess is one of my biggest triggers for my anxiety and my OCD. My classes and teaching you lovely lot has honestly been one of the things thats supported and grounded me, and for that I thank you.

Enough of me moaning, im greatful for my yoga teachings and for the fact we can do the renovations. Im very lucky.

Anyways supposed i just wanted to say im still here, teaching in all my normal haunts, if you've got this far well done! 😅😘
