⚠️ A Warning About Unlicensed Aesthetic Products
Two recent news stories have highlighted a serious concern in the aesthetics world: the growing use of unlicensed and unsafe injectable products in the UK.
One article reports on unregulated fillers being used in UK salons after being bought cheaply online, with no proper licensing or safety checks. Another tells the story of a woman who asked for Botox but was injected with dermal filler instead—leading to painful complications and long-term damage.
As an Advanced Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of experience in aesthetics, I can’t stress this enough:
✅ Only licensed, MHRA-approved products should ever be used.
✅ You should always know exactly what is being injected—and why.
✅ If the price sounds too good to be true, it probably is.
✅ A proper consultation with a qualified medical professional is essential.
Unlicensed products are not just illegal—they’re dangerous. Your face and health are never worth the risk.
If you ever have questions about what’s being used in your treatment, ask. And if you’re not sure, don’t go ahead.
Stay safe,
Carron, Advanced Nurse Practitioner
