THANK YOU to ‘Alice’s Army’ we are grateful for your continued support. We hope you have a restful day planned today as you reflect on last weeks achievement. The Neonatal team will look forward to you coming back for a visit soon.
This time last week BHC fundraiser, Michael Haigh, was lacing up his trainers and getting ready to join the thousands of runners taking part in the Leeds 10K! 🏃🏅
Michael, who was running in support of our Neonatal Appeal, received some lovely news just a few weeks before his challenge... his grandson's surprised him by signing up to the Leeds 10k too! ‘Alice’s Army’ took to the streets of Leeds, supporting each other along the way and creating some wonderful memories that will last a lifetime.
Mick and the lads were running in memory of his granddaughter Alice, who died in December 2018.
🗣️ Speaking about his latest fundraising challenge, Mick said: “I’m really looking forward to taking part in the Leeds 10K again on Sunday, which will further build on Alice’s legacy. It’s a privilege to have the opportunity to raise money for such a wonderful cause again, in a bid to help other families whose newborn babies are cared for in the neonatal unit. Running in memory of Alice on Father’s Day will be really special, and having my grandsons by my side as we cross the finish line in her memory will be emotional for sure - it’ll certainly be a race I won’t forget.”
The team at Bradford Hospital's Charity think it is incredibly special that they did this as a family, and hopefully it is a tradition they can continue over the years. Mick and the boys raised a whopping £635 and we're so grateful!
So what's next guys? Anyone fancy a skydive?! 🪂🩵
