Walking Football Progress Update

We are now 65% into our virtual walk smashing 162 miles and topping up with 1720 keepy uppys! The team are almost at the half way mark but smashing their Lands End to John O'Groats challenge. This week the focus is penalty shoot outs!

It is such a fabulous opportunity working with The Walking Football Association (WFA) and Stuart Langworthy to promote physical activity for older adults.

Walking Football Progress Update

We are now 48% into our virtual walk smashing 172 miles and topping that up with 2470 keepy uppys! The team are making it look like it is a walk in the park. We have now arrived in York!

Walking Football Progress Update
We are now 30% into our virtual walk smashing 164.1 miles and topping that up with 1758 keepy uppys! The team are doing brilliant and bringing along their smiles and encouragement to the rest of the team.

Walking Football Progress this week leads us 13% into our walk from Lands End to John O'Groats landing us in Plymouth. Fantastic effort from our participants of 126.6 miles walked and 2000 keepy uppy's.

Walking Football - First Session!

Our first session was fantastic this morning. Our participants took the chance to get to know each other, tell each other their strengths, weaknesses and what they were most looking forward to with the programme.

Anchor residents are excited to get started with the Walking Football Progamme working with Stuart Langworthy, England Captain Over 60s Walking Football Team and Walking Football Association.

Resources have been sent to the participants ready for kick off on the 1st March.

Zac from ZP Fitness has been visiting our extra care scheme, Rossefield Manor and supporting then to improve their physical health.

Zac says “ZP Fitness sets out to provide a friendly face whilst delivering a mentally stimulating session of a simple physical routine to help maintain mobility, for those who may need some extra encouragement with movement. We are committed to making life better of the residents that we visit.”

Zac certainly keeps residents at Rossefield Manor and residents leave the session laughing and smiling which is absolutely amazing.
