It's said that a yoga nidra session can be like having up to 4 hours of sleep!

If you're unable to join me 'live' online, the recording is available for one week, that you can repeat as many times as you like.

We're already looking busy for in-person Yoga classes through May at , but there's space at Chair Yoga on a Monday at 3.15pm-4pm, and just 1 space at Hatha Yoga on a Monday at 6.30pm-7.30pm or Tuesday at 5.15pm-6.15pm.
If you can't get to a class there's an online option, Wednesday mornings 9am-10am.

β˜€οΈ Through stillness and movement, take time to connect with your inner light, nurture it, and let it shine.
Yoga helps our inner light continue to shine brightly, or reignite it if it has faded a little. Using breathing techniques as well as heart opening poses and gentle sequences that will help to regulate and move prana (the subtle life force within us) around our body, we can tune into our own light and let it shine from within.
Heart opening not only benefits the physical structure of the chest where the heart is, but also our energetic and emotional capacity, such as love, compassion, acceptance and gratitude, increasing energy levels and reducing stress and anxiety β˜€οΈ

THIS WEEK || YOGA FOR A HEALTHY BACK

Yoga is a gentle practice that is great for maintaining back strength and flexibility, strengthening and stretching tight back muscles and improving overall mobility, especially now as we move further out of hibernation and into Spring, moving more as the days get longer and lighter.
We will move mindfully through asanas (postures and poses) using conscious pranayama (slow breaths) to work on core strength, stability and posture, to stretch and strengthen the muscles and fibres that support the spine.
Working through these poses can also help to alleviate back pain, and relieve stress and fatigue that can accompany pain πŸ€πŸ™πŸ»

Twist poses in Yoga can be categorised into seated, standing or reclining, and have a number of physical benefits:
🀍 improving spine mobility and back health
🀍 boosting energy levels
🀍 aiding digestion
Adding gentle stretches between each twist
🀍 improves flexibility and posture
🀍 increases range of motion
Twist poses and stretches also have emotional benefits as they open up the heart centre, chest, back and shoulders which can help to decrease feelings of anxiousness in the body by releasing stored tension πŸ€πŸ™πŸ»

THIS WEEK || YOGA TO GROUND AND FIND BALANCE

🌱 As we move deeper into Spring and feel the energy of the season change, we will take time out to ground and recentre, in mind and in body.
Grounding re-establishes our connection to the earth, helping us feel physically supported. It encourages us to slow down, to stop overthinking, and to just 'be'.
Finding stillness in poses that help to quiet the mind, drawing deeply into the body and the breath, we will then add gentle movement within the poses to challenge balance and find stability 🌱
