🌿🪵MY FAQ’s FROM CHILDREN : “What’s your real job?” 🪵🌿

One thing I love about working with children, it’s their pure, unfiltered comments & curiosities.

My most commonly asked question is what my real job is….
Because, surely, exploring the woods all day, learning at our own pace & interest couldn’t possibly be work…..
Right…?

“Work” can’t be fun and enjoyable can it?

The tragic reality is, is that we live in a society that programs us to thinking and believing that working is 9-5, you wake up, you go to work, you come home exhausted, you go to bed and repeat over and over again.

But life doesn’t have to or need to be this way. And that’s why I tell those children…

Find what you love.
Find what fulfils your soul & brings you happiness.
Don’t let others tell you otherwise.

🌿 🐿️ A wonderful morning in the woods with Helen Howes Private Day Nurseries 🐿️ 🌿

Today we learnt about squirrels, what they eat, their different colours of fur; we made squirrel feeders to leave in the woods & finished the session with Stop That Squirrel story with a hot chocolate 🤍🌿

🌿WEEKLY ROUND UP : Winter Planting Week🌿

Thank you for a gorgeous first full week back.

This week we have planted coriander, tomatoes, garlic; all in preparation for Spring.

We’ve had toast on the fire, marshmallows, read Winter stories & sang songs about staying cosy around an open fire.

A huge thank you for all your continued support & we look forward to seeing you at our next sessions.

🌿🤍SOMETIMES THE BEST THING WE CAN DO IS TO DO NOTHING…..

So next time your kid is noisy, messy, or can’t sit still...

Remember this:

You’re not raising a problem.
You’re witnessing a mind in motion.

That mess is curiosity.
That sound is courage.
That movement is growth finding its way out.

What looks like “too much”
is often a child becoming themselves.
Pause before correcting.
Breathe before controlling.

Sometimes the most loving thing we can do
is step back and let them be.
