Bridge

Bridge Bridge can find the right treatment program to help find a way forward for you or your loved one's needs.

The charity supports people in Bradford affected by substance use, homelessness, domestic violence, poor mental health, and people in contact with the criminal justice system. If you or someone you care for is dependent on alcohol or drugs and needs treatment, it is important to know that no single treatment approach is appropriate for all individuals.

💚At Bridge, by supporting people with substance use challenges, we work towards less crime, fewer children taken into care, reduced pressure on a criminal justice system in crisis, and fewer people attending already‑stretched A&E departments.💚

We need Government to outline clear aims and priorities for our field, and offer political leadership to achieve these, ensuring relevant professionals and organisations focus on this life-changing work. 💛Inside the Reconnect Centre at Bridge 💛

Last week gave us cold temperatures, light snow, then rain and misty fog — definitely come‑in‑and‑get‑dry and cosy weather! So, we did what we do best: put the kettle on (again) and the tumble dryer to welcome people living street‑based lives with a warm space to settle in.

And because winter calls for something tactile and comforting, we opened up a chocolate‑themed jigsaw puzzle 🍫🧩 Very quickly, two puzzle sorting styles emerged:

-The colour‑sorters, lining up bars of chocolate piece by piece
-The edge‑first purists, hunting corners like seasoned pros

Whatever your way stay dry, Bradford — our door (and our puzzle box) is always open.

Mini Orchard Magic at Bridge's Reconnect Centre!

Today we welcomed Alan from Fruit Works Co-op to our as part or our collaboration to support people currently living street‑based lives.

Staff spilled outside to help pot up a new mini‑orchard of 5 fruit trees - apple, pear and plum. With hands deep in soil, one colleague smiled, “Ah… just what I needed after today.”

Staff received practical training on pruning and caring for the trees—and, just like our work, the message was clear: invest in strong roots and solid foundations over time, and the fruits will follow.

Many thanks to Paul and Wendy at Woodbank Nurseries - Harden, Bingley for supporting Bridge with a discount on John Innes potting soil. 🌱🍎🍐🍑
