Simple Sundays: The Magic of a Cardboard Tube! ♻️🎨
Welcome back to ! We know that weekends can sometimes feel like a whirlwind of planning, but we are here to show that
Big Fun ≠ Big Plans.
Today’s inspiration comes straight from the recycling bin! We’ve taken simple cardboard tubes, sliced them into rings, and paired them with bright paint sticks and paper. It’s amazing to watch how something so basic turns into a morning of colorful construction and weaving.
The Benefits for Little Acorns: 🌳
* Fine Motor Focus: Picking up, stacking, and threading these small rings is a fantastic workout for tiny finger muscles.
* Color Recognition: Using paint sticks to decorate individual rings helps children identify and experiment with different shades.
* Creative Problem Solving: Figuring out how to balance the rings or weave them together builds early engineering and logic skills.
The Benefits for Grown-Ups: ❤️
* Zero-Cost Play: No need for expensive toy hauls—just reach for your recycling and a few craft supplies you likely already have.
* Low-Stress Setup: This activity takes less than two minutes to get ready, meaning more time for you to enjoy a (hopefully hot!) coffee while they explore.
* Easy Tidy-Up: Once the play is done, the cardboard can head right back to the recycling bin.
At Young Acorns, we love finding the extraordinary in the ordinary.
