A huge congratulations to the team at Cooper House Care Home in Wibsey, Bradford, who are now proudly sitting at an incredible review score of 9 on carehome.co.uk ⭐

For residents, families and healthcare professionals to take the time to leave such positive feedback speaks volumes about the care, kindness and consistency being delivered every single day.

When Strong Life Care acquired Cooper House just over 12 months ago, the home had only one review. Since then, Home Manager Vicky Taylor and her brilliant team have worked tirelessly to ensure the real story of the home is visible for everyone to see.

From the warm welcome visitors receive as soon as they walk through the door, to regular residents’ meetings that ensure people’s wishes and voices are heard, alongside strong relationships with healthcare professionals and external agencies — this is a home where teamwork really is making the dream work.

Vicky, Uzair, Dorota and the wider team have transformed Cooper House into a well-oiled machine, built on compassion, professionalism and genuine person-centred care.

Going from low review numbers to a score of 9 is no small achievement — and we’ve no doubt they’ll soon be pushing towards a perfect 10 ⭐

Congratulations from everyone at Strong Life Care 👏

🎉 Beginner’s Luck… or a Hidden Bingo Champion? 🎉

Last Friday, Pat joined in bingo at Cooper House for the very first time… and what a debut it was!

You could call it beginner’s luck — but Pat only went and won BOTH games! 👏🎉

At Cooper House, we love encouraging our residents to try new things as well as enjoy the activities they’ve always loved. Keeping the mind active, building confidence, and sharing new experiences all play such an important part in wellbeing — and Pat showed us exactly why.

And just look at that smile… that’s the real prize right there 😊

We’ll definitely be keeping an eye on her next game — could this be the start of a winning streak? 👀

Fun in the sun at Cooper House Care Home in Wibsey, Bradford ☀️

While enjoying some time out in the garden today, Ruth got creative and designed a beautiful bracelet for herself. With a little assistance, it was soon brought to life — and she couldn’t wait to show it off to everyone she saw! 💫

Moments like these are so special, giving our residents the chance to express themselves, build confidence, and take pride in their creations.

It’s safe to say Ruth’s bracelet was the star of the day — and so was her smile 😊

What a day at Cooper House Care Home in Wibsey, Bradford.
Our residents enjoyed a fantastic trip out to Tropical World in Leeds — and it certainly lived up to its name, as it was very warm inside!

There was so much to see and enjoy, from slithering snakes, colourful fish, and beautiful birds, to the real highlight of the day — the butterfly garden, which was truly stunning and peaceful to walk through.

Tropical World Leeds is home to an incredible range of exotic animals from around the world, and it provided a memorable and engaging experience for everyone who went along.

A big thank you to Stephen Roberts for supporting the trip and taking us — it was very much appreciated.

A wonderful day out and lots of special memories made.

At Cooper House Care Home in Wibsey, Bradford, staying connected to the local community is such an important part of life 💙

On Tuesday afternoon, we enjoyed a lovely impromptu trip out to a local charity shop — and what a treat it turned out to be! Our ladies were absolutely delighted with the unplanned visit, embracing the chance to get out and about, browse, and enjoy a change of scenery 🛍️
It’s often these spontaneous moments that bring the most joy — creating a sense of independence, normality, and connection to the world beyond the home.

Supporting our residents to remain part of their local community is at the heart of what we do, and trips like these are a wonderful reminder of how meaningful even a short outing can be.

We’re already looking forward to the next adventure! 😊

At Cooper House Care Home in Wibsey, Bradford, wellbeing and person-centred care are at the heart of everything we do 💙
There’s always something going on in our home, thoughtfully planned around the interests, memories, and individuality of our residents. But often, it’s the simplest moments that mean the most.

On Monday, our lovely ladies enjoyed a heartwarming singalong — and what a joy it was! 🎶 Singing is especially powerful for those living with dementia. Even when memories fade, it’s amazing how songs from 60+ years ago are remembered so clearly, bringing comfort, happiness, and connection.

These moments remind us just how important it is to truly know each resident — what they love, what they remember, and what makes them smile. That’s the essence of person-centred care.

A big thank you to our fantastic activity coordinators for creating such meaningful experiences every day. And as always… singing brings the biggest smiles 😊

Every day’s a school day at Cooper House 💙

There’s never a dull moment at Cooper House Care Home in Wibsey, Bradford — and this week proved just that!

At the wonderful age of 92, Pat decided it was time to learn something new… dominoes 🎲

Not only did she pick it up in no time, but she went on to win three games in a row! Safe to say, she was absolutely thrilled — and so were we.

It’s often the simplest moments that bring the biggest smiles. Learning something new, having a laugh and enjoying time together — that’s what life at Cooper House is all about.

If you’re looking for a care home where every day brings connection, enjoyment and a real sense of belonging, we’d love to welcome you.

There’s been a lovely, calm and very chatty atmosphere at Cooper House Care Home in Bradford recently 🌿

Our residents have been enjoying a sensory seaside activity, exploring a selection of beautiful shells. There was lots of touching, looking, and sharing thoughts as everyone got involved in their own way.

It’s amazing how something so simple can spark so many memories—talking about trips to the beach, collecting shells on the shoreline, and those familiar sounds and feelings of the sea 💛
One especially touching moment came from Susan, who held a shell to her ear. Although she is deaf, she still took a quiet moment to connect with the idea of the sea in her own way.

These kinds of activities gently encourage interaction, conversation, and connection, while also supporting wellbeing and reminiscence in a relaxed and meaningful way.

What’s your favourite seaside memory?

A massive thank you to Mark from Stella Play Hosting for his incredibly kind donation of a record player for our Veterans area here at Cooper House Care Home in Bradford 🎶💛

Music has always had a unique way of bringing people together, sparking memories, and creating moments of real connection. It’s been wonderful to see residents—especially our veterans—engaging with something so familiar and meaningful, and sharing stories and songs that hold personal significance.

Support like this from our local community makes a genuine difference. It helps us continue building spaces that feel homely, respectful, and full of life.

We are truly grateful for this thoughtful gesture and for everyone who continues to support our journey 🌟

There’s something really special about music at Cooper House Care Home in Bradford 🎶💛

Doreen absolutely loves a good sing along, and she’s certainly not alone—many of our residents light up when the music starts. It’s often a joy to hear someone singing along, especially when they may find conversation more difficult at times.

This is what person-centred care is all about. Getting to know each individual, what matters to them, and what brings them comfort, confidence, and joy. Meaningful activities like music sessions are a wonderful way to support wellbeing, encourage connection, and create moments where residents can truly express themselves.

It’s these simple but powerful moments that remind us why we do what we do at Cooper House 💫

At Cooper House Care Home in Bradford, we are proud to be signed up to the Veteran Friendly Framework and fully committed to developing a truly Veteran Friendly approach across our home 🇬🇧

We’ve already made strong progress in raising awareness within our local community, and it’s been fantastic to see such positive engagement and support along the way.

Most recently, we’ve created a dedicated Veterans room filled with thoughtfully donated memorabilia. It has quickly become a real talking point across the home—an area for reflection, conversation, and connection. The response from residents and visitors has been incredibly meaningful.

Eric’s visit to the room was a particularly special moment. He immediately recognised a uniform on display and spent time looking through the books, before being drawn to some of the records—singing along and sharing memories sparked by the music.

It’s moments like these that highlight the importance of preserving memory, identity, and experience through familiar objects and shared history. We are incredibly grateful for every donation that has helped bring this space to life and make it such a valuable part of life at Cooper House 💫
