Today we’re launching the Patient and Public Involvement and Engagement (PPIE) Network Group at NIHR Bradford & West Yorkshire CRDC.

This group is all about making sure patients and communities help shape the research that affects them.

Together, we’ll:

📢 Exciting news for patients in West Yorkshire!

Our partner site, Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, has recruited the first patient in Europe to a major international clinical trial looking at new treatments for chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).

The study aims to find ways to reduce flare-ups and improve quality of life for people with COPD. If you’re aged 40–80, have COPD, and are a current or former smoker, you may be eligible to take part.
