20th November is Carers Rights Day and Essex Wellbeing Service has joined their partners across Essex to highlight the support available for unpaid carers and resources that can be available during key moments - like hospital discharge.

Carers often face challenges understanding discharge procedures, coordinating care at home and accessing support but Essex County Council have compiled a new Hospital Discharge Support Guide offering clear practical support and signposting.

Swap your old slippers for a FREE pair at one of the nine Slipper Swap events across the district over the next few weeks.

The first event takes place on 7 November from 12pm until 1.30pm in Halstead at Queens Hall (CO9 2BY).

It’s scary to think about but if your child’s clothes catch on fire their instinct will be to run. And that won’t help!

So, this firework season it’s important to teach children what to do. Remember, STOP, DROP, and ROLL:

STOP what you are doing.
DROP to the ground and cover your face with your hands.
ROLL over and over to put out the flames.

You can encourage children to practice putting out pretend flames by making it into a fun game in the garden.
