St Mary’s Court is a purpose built care home in Braintree, Essex, providing specialist 24 hour residential dementia care and general nursing care.

Set in ten acres of beautiful grounds, St Mary’s Court, owned by Sonnet Care Homes, is a purpose built care home in Braintree that provides dedicated 24 hour residential care for those who are living with dementia, plus nursing and palliative care for people with higher level general nursing care requirements. At St Mary’s Court we work with older people with dementia, and also have a specialist u

nit to support people with young onset dementia. We also have a separate unit dedicated to providing high dependency nursing and palliative care in a calm and supportive environment. Our care teams are highly trained and knowledgeable and they work closely with each resident, providing an individual programme of care and support that enables them to live safely and as independently as possible, and with dignity at all times.

We made the most of the sunshine with a lovely trip out to Maldon this week 😊

Our wonderful residents from St Mary's Court Care Home enjoyed a stroll along the waterfront, watching the boats drift by and taking in the fresh sea air before settling down together for a proper fish and chip lunch at Queen's Head, Maldon, Essex . Safe to say there were plenty of empty plates by the end 🍟🐟

It was such a nice afternoon seeing everyone chatting, smiling and enjoying each other’s company by the water 💜

Last week at St Mary's Court Care Home , we marked VE Day with an afternoon full of music, memories and plenty of smiling faces.

Our lovely residents spent time singing along, enjoying games and tucking into some lovely treats while sharing stories from years gone by 😊 The live music had everyone tapping their toes, and there were lots of special moments enjoyed together throughout the afternoon.

Another fantastic seated exercise class here at St Mary's Court Care Home with the wonderful Dean from Gfitness 🏋️💜

The weather was too lovely to stay indoors, so we took the class out into our courtyard and it made all the difference. Fresh air, sunshine and plenty of smiles set the tone for a really enjoyable afternoon 😎

Our residents got stuck in as always, giving it their best and encouraging each other along the way. There was such a positive energy, with lots of laughter mixed in between the stretches and movements 😊

It’s sessions like these that leave everyone feeling uplifted and we’re already looking forward to welcoming Dean back again soon 💜

Today, we took our lovely residents from St Mary's Court Care Home out for a wonderful trip to the Bocking Village May Day Fair 🎡✨

There was so much joy throughout the day, with laughter, chatting and plenty to take in as we explored the colourful stalls and enjoyed the sweet treats on offer. It was such a pleasure watching everyone soak up the lively atmosphere and enjoy the simple fun of the fair 🍭🎠

We also made a special visit to St. Mary's Church, Bocking , which brought a peaceful and reflective moment to our outing. It was a lovely contrast to the buzz of the fair and gave everyone a chance to pause and take in the surroundings ⛪️

A huge thank you to our wonderful team for their care and support in making the day so smooth and enjoyable for our residents. It truly was a day filled with smiles, connection and special memories 💜

We had such a wonderful time celebrating Multicultural Day here at St Mary's Court Care Home 💜

The home was full of colour, music and the most amazing aromas as everyone came together to share food, stories and laughter. Our wonderful residents and their relatives really made the day special, enjoying the chance to sit together, try different dishes and learn a little more about each other’s cultures 🍽️

There were some lovely performances throughout the day too, with plenty of clapping, singing along and happy faces all round. It was one of those days where the atmosphere just felt warm and full of connection 🎶

Moments like these mean so much to us, seeing everyone come together and enjoy each other’s company in such a joyful way. What a beautiful celebration it was 💜

April didn’t feel like one big moment across our homes, but lots of smaller ones and that’s what made it so special 💜

There were Easter crafts, feasts, time spent outside as the weather picked up, and plenty of conversations sparked along the way. We also took time to recognise Autism Acceptance Week and Parkinson’s Awareness Week, creating space to learn, reflect and support one another.

St George’s Day brought a bit of fun and familiarity too, with simple touches that made people smile 🏴

It’s these everyday moments that shape life in our homes, not just the celebrations, but the time spent together in between.

We made the most of the sunshine with a lovely trip out to the local garden centre, and it was just one of those feel good days from start to finish 🌼

Our lovely residents from St Mary's Court Care Home enjoyed wandering through the colourful displays, taking their time to admire the flowers and greenery. Along the way, there were so many chats about gardens they had loved and cared for over the years, with little stories shared here and there that made it all the more special.

Of course, we could not leave empty handed, so we picked out a few plants to bring back and brighten up our own garden. There is already excitement about where they will go and who will help look after them 💜

What a lovely day we’ve had out in the courtyard at St Mary's Court Care Home 💜

Our wonderful residents headed outside with their gardening tools and got stuck into giving the garden a little refresh. There was plenty of pottering about, planting bright, cheerful flowers and tidying up the space, all while enjoying the fresh air and a bit of sunshine 🌼

It was just as much about the chats as the gardening, with stories being shared, laughter bubbling up and friendships growing along the way. Moments like these really do make our home feel extra special 😊

We also proudly celebrated International Women’s Day, recognising the inspiring women within our communities, and marked Mother’s Day with thoughtful moments of love, gratitude, and reflection 🌷 🚺 🍎 🍀
