we were joined by the amazing Kiddleydivey Colchester, Clacton & Ipswich - Adults we absolutely adore this visit each and every time 😍

🚌💛 What a wonderful day making memories together! Our very first trip on the company bus was full of smiles, laughter, and special moments from start to finish. We loved visiting Braintree Museum who often visit us inhome, we decided to come to them to see the amazing dolls we created at Riverdale proudly on display — such a proud moment for everyone! 🪆✨

After plenty of fun and laughter, we made the most of the beautiful weather with a picnic at Bocking Gardens ☀️🧺🌸 enjoying good company, fresh air, and lots of happy chatter.

Days like these remind us that joy can be found in the little things — friendship, community, sunshine, and making memories together ❤️

This Dementia Action Week, we enjoyed a wonderful morning of coffee, cake and conversation in our front of house ☕🍰💙

Our lovely therapy dog Clemmie has been making the rounds, spreading comfort and joy to residents, staff, and visiting relatives alike. She’s a firm favourite — even Paul couldn’t resist stopping on the stairs for his daily Clemmie fix!

On Thursday our residents attended a reflective and musical church service by colleagues from St Michaels Church.
They enjoyed listening to the readings, singing along to the hymns as well as the guitar music.
Having the opportunity for our residents to be able to continue practicing and celebrating their spirituality and faith is a vital part of their wellbeing and is supported and encouraged.

This is our lovely Resident Arthur🩵

Every week for wow… many many years , Arthur used to stop on his way home from work to buy beautiful flowers for his wife Sandra — not because he had to, but because he wanted to. ❤️

So, we decided to help bring this beautiful tradition back after Arthur mentioned to us this is what he used to do and the result was simply priceless. There were happy tears, huge smiles, and a reminder that true love never fades and Sandra and Arthur definitely have that true love with one another 🥹🌸

Ron is a resident at Riverdale Care Home 💙

His family members, Sue and Mike, are fundraising for the Alzheimer's Society and have taken on the Trek26 Stonehenge walk to raise money and awareness for dementia support. They completed a 26-mile challenge as part of the event, what an amazing achievement🚶‍♀️✨

Ron is 95 years old and was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s several years ago. He has been living at Riverdale Care Home for the past six years, where he is supported by wonderful, caring staff and continues to take part in daily activities whenever he can 🌿

Sue and Mike took on this challenge in his honour, to help raise vital funds for families affected by Alzheimer’s and supporting ongoing research and care.

Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a real difference and is truly appreciated. Thank you for your kindness, support, and for taking the time to read Ron’s story and thank you to Sue and Mike for their continued support. You are truly amazing 💙

A huge thank you to everyone who came along to celebrate our wonderful Home Manager, Nathalie, at her baby shower! 💙👶

Nathalie is such a special part of the Riverdale family the support she shows to everyone on a daily basis and the love she gives she really has a heart like no other and how lucky we are at Riverdale to have her , so celebrating this exciting new chapter with her was something very special for us all.😍

Despite the weather changing our plans, our amazing chefs put together a fantastic indoor BBQ, and the atmosphere was filled with just every emotion there was tears , laughter, and excitement all day long. 🎶 A special thank you to Craig for the brilliant live singing performance that made the day even more memorable!

It was also lovely to welcome Nathalie’s family to celebrate alongside our residents and team what a pleasure it was to meet them all! We can now see who has made Nathalie the amazing lady she is today thank you for everything and sharing such a special moment together meant so much to everyone❤️

Wishing Nathalie all the happiness as she prepares to welcome her baby boy into the world and we all can’t wait to watch you love your little boy with your beautiful heart you have, he is going to be the most loved boy in the world 💙✨
