The New Deanery Care Home is part of the multi award-winning Gold Care Homes group. We are proud to have been rated good by PAMMS.

Our exceptional care home offers 24 hour support to older adults with residential and dementia care needs. If you are looking for a residential care home in Braintree, The New Deanery combines high quality care with luxury accommodation at our beautiful and historic home, set in ten acres of glorious grounds. The New Deanery, owned by Sonnet Care Homes, can be a home for life for our residents, who we care for through ups and downs. If our residents require more specialist care our sister home, St Mary’s Court, is right next door. Our residents have the support of a much higher than average number of staff 24 hours a day, all of whom are carefully selected and trained to provide as much or as little care and support as individual residents require. Every member of our team is committed to keeping kindness, comfort and respect at the heart of everything they do to ensure our residents can live their life the way they choose.

March has been a truly special month across our homes, filled with meaningful celebrations and shared experiences that have brought residents and teams together ✨

From raising awareness during Nutrition and Hydration Week to enjoying the energy and fun of St Patrick’s Day, there has been something for everyone to take part in. We also proudly celebrated International Women’s Day, recognising the inspiring women within our communities, and marked Mother’s Day with thoughtful moments of love, gratitude, and reflection 🌷 🚺 🍎 🍀

Life across our 46 homes is shaped by these moments, both big and small. They create a sense of belonging, spark conversation, and bring joy to everyday life, making each home a vibrant and supportive place to live 🏡💜

Behind every celebration is the dedication and care of our incredible teams, whose passion continues to create engaging and meaningful experiences for our residents 👏💜

Our wonderful residents got creative this week as we made some beautiful Easter cards 🐣💌

With colourful paper, a touch of glitter and plenty of laughter along the way, it was such a lovely afternoon at The New Deanery Care Home. Everyone enjoyed adding their own personal touches, creating cards that are sure to bring a smile to their loved ones’ faces.

A big thank you to our wonderful activities team for organising such a lovely session to get us into the Easter spirit 💜🐰🌼

🌟🥤 Exciting News from the new deanery care homes🥤🌟

This National Nutrition and Hydration Week, our wonderful residents took a delicious step towards healthier living by making their own smoothies! 🍓🍌🍍

With a variety of fresh fruits and vibrant veggies, everyone rolled up their sleeves and blended up some nutritious treats. It was a fantastic way to celebrate good health and the importance of staying hydrated. Plus, the smiles on their faces as they enjoyed their creations were priceless! 😊✨

What a truly magical time we had at Chelmsford City Racecourse , where our residents and team were delighted to attend the annual “Time for a Cuppa” event. We felt incredibly honoured to be invited once again by the wonderful teams at Dementia UK and Essex Dementia Care , bringing everyone together for such a meaningful and joy filled occasion☕

From the moment we arrived, the atmosphere was warm, welcoming, and full of life, with a fun packed afternoon that had something for everyone. Our lovely residents enjoyed games of bingo, took part in an exciting raffle, and indulged in a selection of delicious cakes, all while sharing laughter and creating special memories together🍰

One of the highlights of the day was a very special visit from Essex Therapy Dogs 💟💟, whose gentle and friendly companions brought comfort, smiles, and lots of affection to everyone they met. The joy on our residents’ faces said it all as they spent time with these wonderful animals 🐾

To make the day even more unforgettable, we were thrilled to meet Manny, a truly stunning racehorse who captured everyone’s attention and admiration. It was a unique and heart-warming experience that added an extra touch of magic to an already incredible day 🐎

Thank you so much to everyone involved for hosting such a thoughtful and uplifting event, it was a day filled with connection, joy, and moments we will treasure for a long time to come 💟

What a truly magical early St. Patrick's Day celebration it has been 🍀🎶

At The New Deanery Care Home , the day came alive with the uplifting sounds of a wonderful Celtic band, Shurig, whose music echoed through the halls and created an atmosphere full of joy, warmth, and togetherness . From the very first note, smiles began to spread, feet started tapping, and the spirit of the day was felt by everyone

Our lovely residents were at the heart of it all, fully embracing the moment as they clapped along, sang, and even joined in with the fun. There was laughter, movement, and a beautiful sense of connection as the music brought everyone together in celebration of Irish culture 🌈

It was more than just a performance, it was an experience filled with happiness, energy, and shared memories that will be treasured. Moments like these remind us how powerful music can be in lifting spirits and bringing people closer ✨

A heartfelt thank you to Shurig for sharing such incredible talent and spirit with us. We’re already looking forward to many more special musical moments ahead.

Today at The New Deanery Care Home we were proud to welcome the incredible team from Training2Care to deliver their powerful and inspiring dementia awareness training to our staff 💟

Training 2 Care UK Ltd are known worldwide for their scientifically and medically proven approach, designed to give those with a healthy brain a realistic insight into what living with dementia may feel like. Through immersive, hands on experiences, our team were able to step into the world of someone living with dementia, gaining a deeper understanding of the sensory, emotional, and environmental challenges they may face each day

This innovative method goes beyond theory. It encourages reflection, empathy, and practical change, helping care professionals understand the small but meaningful adjustments that can be made to daily practice and surroundings to truly enhance the lives of people living with dementia

We are so grateful to the Training 2 Care UK Ltd team for sharing their knowledge and passion with us. Investing in this kind of learning ensures we continue to provide compassionate, person centred care that makes a real difference to our residents and their families 🥰

In a world that can always use more compassion, Random Acts of Kindness Day is a meaningful reminder of how small actions can make a big difference. In 2026, Random Acts of Kindness Day is celebrated on February 17, inviting people everywhere to spread kindness through simple, unexpected gestures.

Our dedicated team The New Deanery Care Home and St Mary's Court Care Home set out with bags full of goodies, for a few carefully selected people in our local area thanks to Rev. Rod Reid St. Mary's Church, Bocking ❤️

The smiles were so heartwarming it reminded us how lucky we are to be part of such a special and friendly community 🥰🥰

🌟 What a fantastic outing! Our lovely residents from The New Deanery Care Home enjoyed a delightful lunch The Bell Inn our favourite local pub 🍽️✨ Laughter echoed through the air as everyone shared stories, reminisced, and savoured delicious meals together.

It was truly heart-warming to witness the joy on everyone's faces as they connected over delicious food and cherished memories. The warm atmosphere and friendly staff made every moment even more special, creating an experience filled with love and connection. ❤️

A huge thank you to The Bell Inn for hosting us and making our outing so memorable! We appreciate the wonderful service and hospitality that made this day truly unforgettable. 🥰 We can't wait for our next adventure together, stay tuned for more exciting outings ahead!
