🦒 No one blames a giraffe for not bonding with her baby… so why is there expectation and guilt for mums?

If we know that bonding doesn’t always happen quickly… why is there so little support there to catch mums when they’re experiencing something so scary but so common?

I have experienced both the immediate jolt of unconditional love at birth and a struggle to bond until after the fourth trimester - it’s why I’ve give my life to helping new mums have that safe space to allow the bonding process to unfold, with no judgment 🦒✨

Thank Mamas for allowing us to be part of your motherhood journey.

💜 We never take for granted how incredibly privileged we are to be allowed into such a beautiful, vulnerable and unique part of your lives.

✨ Everyone will tell you to soak up every moment at Christmas.

🎄And honestly when my girls were babies I wondered if I was doing something wrong… because what exactly was I suppose to be doing? I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.

❄️We question our worth and have so much guilt as mums and never more than at Christmas or big milestones.

🎄Each year I’d try and do the most, book the most, buy the most just so I felt like I was doing enough… but you can’t buy magic.

✨It just takes time.

✨Traditions take time to build.

✨Babies grow into children who naturally radiate magic and wonder.

💕Now… with a 3 and 5 year old I can hand on heart say this is it. This is the magic. We keep calling them “The Peak Years” for Christmas.

🎄So if you’re chasing the magic, give yourself grace Mama. I promise you are all your baby needs, embrace the snuggles and allow time for the sparkle to grow.

If your baby’s first Christmas feels less magic than you imagined please know you are not alone.

If your turkey dinner is left waiting for you because you spent forever settling your baby, only to come back to a cold plate—I’ve been there.

If you have to leave early or skip the celebration altogether because the thought of a car ride with a screaming baby felt unbearable—I’ve felt it.

If you find yourself upstairs, nap trapped, listening to everyone else enjoying the festivities—I see you.

If this Christmas is tough going remember:

💜 It won’t always be like this.
💜 You’re doing absolutely nothing wrong.
💜 No one else has to fully understand for your feelings to be valid.

❄️ I’d never have imagined this life and these magical little girls would be mine if you’d had told me then.

💕 I’m so proud of the life we have created together and so grateful every day for the most gentle, kindhearted man to be my partner in life and Daddy to our girlies.
