A biomechanical assessment looks at how your feet, ankles, and legs work when you stand and walk. At Bailey Podiatry & Reflexology, we use Digitsole Pro technology to measure pressure and movement through your feet in real time.

This helps us to:

We have a lockable metal cabinet (key in lock provided and 1 shelf inside) no longer needed if it would be of use to anyone free of charge - photo below.

Unfortunately, as we are short on space it has been placed outside the entrance to the clinic (beside little spar).

Alternatively if there are any scrap metal collectors in the area we are happy to arrange collection etc if not needed by next week.

We shall arrange a waste collection next week if no interest.

🦶 Diabetic Foot Care in Practice

Today’s images show the management of a superficial hallux ulcer in a patient with well-controlled type 2 diabetes, treated here in clinic.

Early identification, pressure offloading, regular debridement where appropriate, and structured wound care are key to supporting uncomplicated healing. Even when diabetes is well managed, small wounds on the feet should never be ignored, particularly in pressure-bearing areas such as the big toe (hallux).

This is a great example of how timely podiatric intervention can help reduce the risk of infection and promote steady improvement.

✨ Small details that make me smile in clinic ✨

The new sign on the toilet door simply says “The Loo” — and it never fails to make me chuckle.

Is “the loo” a northern thing? I’m genuinely not sure, but it feels perfectly at home here in Brampton.

You might also spot our new hand wash and hand lotion pairing in clinic. I’m a Neal’s Yard Remedies Consultant, and I’ve chosen English Lavender & Calendula range for its gentle, nourishing properties — ideal for a clinical setting where hand care really matters.

I also use some of their beautiful products during reflexology treatments… but more on that very soon 💙

What began as an interdigital corn on a rheumatic foot progressed into a more complex wound, highlighting just how quickly tissue integrity can change in high-risk patients. From September 2025 through to today, careful monitoring, pressure reduction, and consistent podiatric care have supported full healing of the affected toe.

In rheumatic disease, interdigital lesions can mask deeper or more sinister pathology if left unchecked. Although healing is now complete, this area will continue to be closely observed, allowing the patient ongoing reassurance that any future changes will be identified and addressed early.

This is preventative foot care in action — focused not only on healing, but on long-term safety and confidence.

Seven years.
One very stubborn verruca.
And zero judgement — ever.

This patient attended after living with a persistent verruca for 7 years, having tried multiple treatments elsewhere without success. Verrucas can be unpredictable, resilient, and frustrating — and none of that reflects failure on the patient’s part.
After a course of plasma treatment, the verruca has now fully resolved — and most importantly, the patient is comfortable, confident, and very happy 💛

Every foot has a story.
Every patient deserves to be listened to.
And no one should feel embarrassed about seeking help — no matter how long something has been there.

Eek-ing out the very last of the festive cheer in clinic 🎄🦌

Rudolph has made a final appearance on my patients’ socks as we gently transition out of Christmas and into the new year. A little light-hearted joy can go a long way in lifting mood, easing stress, and softening those post-Christmas blues — even in subtle ways like colour, comfort, and familiarity.

As routines return and January approaches, it’s a good reminder that small moments of warmth and self-care still matter. Your feet (and nervous system) appreciate it more than you might think.
