We are receiving significant requests from patients for GP input both clinical and administrative
The team are working extremely hard to work through all requests. Admin requests including FIT notes, fi****ms or DVLA forms will be dealt with as soon as possible however, medical requests will be prioritised.
Help us Help You
**Please be aware that we do not offer emergency on demand walk in treatment. Patients are not able to walk in and bypass our GP clinical triage and move ahead of other patients or have other patients appointments moved/delayed or cancelled to obtain immediate treatment. Where you know that you require immediate life threatening emergency treatment, this requires 999 as opposed to GP practice intervention. In addition, if you have urgent symptoms and feel you cannot wait for GP review via our triage system the 111 service is available 24/7
**We are not able to provide services such as X Ray's or head scans on demand at the practice. Unfortunately we have seen a rise over the last few weeks in requests for immediate A&E or Urgent Treatment centre type services following accidents. Please be aware that we cannot offer this level of service at any of our practice sites. If you have had an accident and are requesting immediate medical intervention due to injury this should be accessed via the appropriate services.
Pharmacy First:
This is a national scheme offered throughout the UK including North Cumbria.
Many conditions such as hay fever or sore throats can be reviewed via your local pharmacy team under the pharmacy first scheme. Pharmacists can offer advice on a range of illnesses, such as coughs, colds, sore throats, ear infections and aches and pains. They can also give advice about medicines. This includes how to use your medicine, worries about side effects or any other questions you have. If they cannot help you themselves, they can refer you to a GP or other health professional.
Details can also be found here of conditions where prescription medication can be provided: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-services/pharmacies/how-pharmacies-can-help/
Thank You in advance for accessing services appropriately 😊
