WE’RE BACK!
Looking a little different but still offering the standard of care you’ve come to expect. Some appointments still available this week with more options next week. Here if you need.

Dear all. I am now open for urgent and acute care appointments at Braunton Chiropractic Clinic! Thank you for your patience over this time. Please read below for the details on how the practice will be run to ensure everyone’s safety.

During this Covid-19 crisis the Chiropractic profession is striving to ensure that patient safety is our number one priority as we provide Chiropractic care within a healthcare setting that adheres to the current Government and Industry guidelines on minimising any spread of Covid-19. Care can now be offered for all urgent/acute cases.
With this information in mind there will be a few changes implemented. The following framework should be helpful to know what to expect. This will be subject to change over the coming weeks/months in response to prevailing advice.
1. Your initial consultation will be taken over the phone to minimise contact.
2. When you make your appointment you will be asked if you are experiencing any symptoms of Covid-19 (fever, new onset of cough). Also, if you have been exposed to anyone with suspected or diagnosed Covid-19 in the past 14 days, you will be asked to reschedule your appointment.
3. Times between patients will be made longer due to time taken to clean treatment areas and other high touch zones/clinic furniture and prepare and change PPE.
4. I will ask that patients arrive on time for their appointment and not too early. The patient will wait in their car and I will collect the patient from the car to enter the clinic.
5. Please leave as many accessory items in the car/at home as you are able to. This includes watches, jewellery, bags etc.
6. Please bring your own PPE mask to attend your appointment. You will need to remove any gloves that you have been wearing outside our clinic environment and sanitise your hands/put on another pair on entering the clinic.
7. I kindly ask that patients do not bring friends or family to appointments unless required as a chaperone or for assistance.
8. It is advised that patients wear minimal, comfortable, loose clothing. In some instances it may not be necessary to use a gown (dependent on the type of treatment and patient/practitioner preference).
9. The treatment format should remain similar to pre Covid-19. A 2 metre distance will be maintained when possible.
10. I will be wearing the PPE as directed by our governing body. This will be sourced ethically (not taking away from the NHS). It will include single use gloves and apron and single session face masks. I will be wearing scrubs that will be only worn in clinic.
11. Payment. I would ask that you pay with cash in a sealed envelope or use the contactless card reader provided.
12. Further appointments will be made in a diary and an appointment card provided.

I hope that this level of care will prove satisfactory to you in providing a safe environment for you to receive your Chiropractic treatment in these Covid-19 times. I will continue to monitor my approach to delivering this care and modify these guidelines accordingly. If you have any further queries regarding our current risk assessment or your specific suitability for receiving treatment at this time, please contact me directly.

Dear all, due to the current government announcement and subsequent guidelines from the British Chiropractic Association I will be closing the clinic for the foreseeable future.
I would like to thank all of my patients, past and present for your support and will announce when things return to ‘normal’.
If you need any help or advice in the mean time please don’t hesitate to ring or message me.
Thank you again and good luck to all. Stay safe and I look forward to seeing again when this is all over.
Nick Grimshaw.

Clinic update regarding my working practice in light of coronavirus.
To summarise, our recent increased hygiene protocols within the clinic have been implemented as follows:
Hand sanitiser gel is available in the waiting room for patients to use on entry and exit of the premises.
Treatment bench covers have been removed to allow a complete clean between patients.
Cleaning has also increased to include door handles, arm rests and other common surfaces.
We are following all the latest guidelines from the regulatory body, the british chiropractic association and public health England.
In line with current guidelines, please postpone your appointment if you have recently started to experience a new persistent cough, temperature of 37.8 or above, flu-like symptoms or have been in contact with someone that has a confirmed case of COVID-19.
If you have any concerns about attending for your appointment and wish to discuss any individual issues, please feel free to call me on the usual number.
This is undoubtably going to be a challenging time to continue providing care where physical contact is the cornerstone of how I work, but your health is my priority and I will continue to provide my services to the best of my ability and will update accordingly.
Thank you.

I’ve only come across this twice in my career. Just to be aware.

With the recent media attention around the rare but serious Cauda Equina Syndrome we wanted to highlight the information. Low back and leg pain are a common combination and on their own, not a warning sign
