Support and enhance the psychological care of clients within the Local Primary Mental Health Support Service, providing
brief cognitive behavioural therapy to people experiencing mild-moderate and stable mental health difficulties including
anxiety and depression. Design and implement brief group interventions to meet local needs and may also support Registrants in the team with Part 1 Mental Health Assessments.

Assist in clinically related administration, such as supporting LPMHSS screening and allocation processes, and contributing
to the development and implementation of audits/service evaluations/research projects, teaching and project work.

This role is integrated into a multidisciplinary team comprising mental health Nurses, accredited Counsellors, Occupational
Therapists and Social Workers to support the implementation of the CBT Pathway within the Local Primary Mental Health
Support Service.

The post holder will be expected to undertake Postgraduate Certificate Training in CBT with either Cardiff University or
Bangor University as part of their role, if they have not already done so. This PG Certificate will be fully funded with

Assist in ensuring that the ward area is kept clean and tidy, e.g. participating in general housekeeping, adhering guidelines in the disposal of dirty linen etc in accordance with Health Board Policies.

You will work as part of an existing team of podiatrists in Powys and will have a specialist interest in the management of the high-risk patient and wound care. You will be given opportunities in the longer term to develop their own specialist knowledge, skills and competence. The successful candidate will be supported to gain an independent prescribing qualification if they do not already have one.

You should have proven specialist clinical skills and be keen to take an active part in contributing to ongoing development of our service. You will need to have excellent communication, motivational and organisational skills, a flexible approach to work to deliver a high standard of care

You will be based in Welshpool or Newtown and you will be responsible for the day to day running of the wound care service providing specialist podiatry services to patients with diabetic foot complications in a busy clinical environment. You will undertake advanced wound care and casting techniques. You will be responsible for the clinical supervision of junior team members, students, and other support staff within the team.

The goal of the service is to enable patients to make informed choices about how to manage their condition, so that they can stay as well as possible for as long as possible, and reduce their risk of diabetes-related complications. Patients are empowered to self-manage wherever possible.
