Nature Child

Nature Child We are a not-for-profit organisation enabling children to explore, learn and grow in nature.

We provide wellbeing and outdoor learning experiences for primary aged children at our beautiful wild site near Talgarth. We run activity days for local schools which connect children with nature and enrich the provision of the New National Curriculum for Wales.

HAPPY EASTER EVERYONE! 🌼🐣🌷🦋🐝
Here are some of the nests we had lovely time making last week. We investigated real birds nests and then tried weaving our own using weeping willow and alder for flexibility and strength. Then of course we tested how well they would hold our eggs! 😃

Sunshine arrived to welcome children back this week, for the start of our 6th year in the Nature classroom!
We enjoyed games round the fire and tested our rafts in a sparkling river, with all the shades of gold and yellow; celandine, primroses, daffodils and dandelions heralding the brighter days to come. Hooray for the return of spring! ☀️🥀🌿

Today Dosbarth Glas visited Nature Child.

The children have had a wonderful day in nature learning to identify trees by their leaves, creating wonderful natural artwork, learning to light fires, and what a fire needs to stay alight, and experimenting with different quantities of ingredients to create the best daub recipe for a wattle and daub fence. 🍁 🍃 🍂
