Thinking of having a massage not sure what to expect? Here is a brief guide.

You will be asked to complete a health history, the reason for this is so the therapist knows anything she should be aware of such as any recent injurys or anything she may need to avoid and will also discuss any areas giving you problems so that you can focus more on these areas if necessary.

The therapist will leave the room so that you can get undressed as much as you feel comfortable and to lay on the table covered with the drape/towel. With draping, only the part of the body being worked on will be uncovered so you feel comfortable at all times.

Communication between client and therapist are all important elements of a massage session so always tell your therapist if you feel uncomfortable or for example if you would like more or less pressure during the massage

Consider massage appointments a necessary piece of your health and wellness plan, and work with your therapist to establish a treatment schedule that best meets your needs,

How can you use essential oils?

Foot Bath
Use he following oils for feet such as Lavender Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Peppermint. Helps to relax and moisturise, try to do this once a week for benefits

In the bath
Using essential oils in the bath can be an effective way of helping your mood. Remember to add essential oils to a spoon or two of oil and add it to the bath water do this just before you get in so you have the most benefit as the oils will evaporate over time. Sandalwood. Lavender and Roman Chamomile are very relaxing afer a busy day. Lemongrass and Rosemary for the morning are good for an invigorating start to the day

For some people it is just time to relax and have some time for yourselves for others it can be more tailor made focusing on certain parts of the body as massage can help to assist in reducing muscle fatigue and aches and pains, whilst increasing joint mobility.
