Are you a skilled culinary professional looking for a rewarding role in a community setting? Brookside Care Home in Llangors is seeking a talented and motivated Second Chef to join our kitchen team. Supporting the Head Chef, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality, nutritious, and delicious meals that enhance the well-being of our residents.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist the Head Chef in the preparation and service of daily meals, ensuring high standards of presentation and taste.

- Take charge of the kitchen operations in the Head Chef’s absence.
​
- Help develop varied, seasonal menus that cater to specific dietary needs and textures.
​
- Maintain rigorous food safety and hygiene standards (HACCP) at all times.
​
- Assist with stock control, rotation, and ensuring the kitchen remains clean and compliant with health regulations.

What We Are Looking For:

- Previous experience as a Second Chef, Sous Chef, or experienced Commis Chef, preferably in a residential or healthcare environment.
​
- Relevant catering qualifications and a valid Food Hygiene Certificate.
​
- A genuine passion for cooking and a patient, caring attitude toward elderly residents.
​
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work under pressure during busy meal times.
​
- Flexibility to work on a rota basis, including alternate weekends.

Job Opportunity: Full-Time Cleaner
Location: Brookside Care Home, Llangorse, Brecon
Hours: Full-Time

Brookside Care Home is seeking a dedicated and thorough Cleaner to join our housekeeping team. We pride ourselves on maintaining a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for our residents, and your role will be vital in ensuring our high standards are met throughout the nursing home.

Key Responsibilities:

- Maintain cleanliness in resident bedrooms, communal lounges, dining areas, and staff offices.
​
- Perform deep cleaning tasks including vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting surfaces.
​
- Ensure all sanitary areas (bathrooms and toilets) are cleaned to a high clinical standard.
​
- Safe handling and storage of cleaning chemicals in accordance with COSHH regulations.
​
- Report any maintenance issues or equipment faults to the management team.

Requirements:

- A high level of attention to detail and a commitment to hygiene.
​
- A friendly, respectful, and empathetic approach toward elderly residents.
​
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
​
- Previous experience in a care home or clinical setting is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided.
​
- Reliability and a strong work ethic.
