I am running the Allergies Clinic at Still House Clinic this month. If you suffer from Hayfever or Allergic Rhinitis, this is a great time to book in a treatment before your symptoms take hold.

It's also an excellent time to look at a Seasonal Rebalancing treatment so if you're feeling slightly out of sorts with low energy levels, or have been struggling with a flare up of symptoms such as joint pains or headaches, this may be an indicator that a seasonal treatment may be needed.

Find out further information about acupuncture at www.jchana.com or feel free to contact me to discuss your individual symptoms either by email at acupuncture@jchana.com or by telephone 07590 259888

Embracing Natural Health in the Year of the Wood Snake

As the vibrant celebrations of the Lunar New Year burst into life, it's the perfect time to reflect on the zodiac's symbolism and the opportunities it brings for personal growth and wellness.

Each Year in the Chinese zodiac carries unique energy and lessons, and the Year of the Snake is no exception. Representing wisdom, intuition, and transformation, the Snake encourages us to embrace balance and shed old habits to reveal our most vital selves. By adopting practices that nurture the mind, body, and spirit, we can embark on a journey toward renewed vitality and well-being.

Within Chinese culture, the Snake is a symbol of intelligence, elegance, and healing. This creature, often associated with renewal due to its ability to shed its skin, inspires us to let go of what no longer serves us. The Year of the Snake is a call to reflect inwardly, strengthen our intuition, and prioritise self-care. It's a reminder that wellness is about physical health, emotional balance, and spiritual growth.

Natural healthcare practices align beautifully with the Snake's energy. These methods are rooted in ancient traditions that emphasise prevention, balance, and the body's innate ability to heal itself.

Here are some reasons why incorporating natural health care is particularly beneficial in the Year of the Snake:
Holistic Healing: Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), herbal remedies, and other natural approaches address the root cause of issues rather than just the symptoms. This mirrors the Snake's introspective nature, encouraging us to understand and resolve imbalances deeply.
Stress Reduction: Practices like acupuncture, tai chi, and meditation promote relaxation and reduce stress. The Snake's wisdom reminds us that inner peace is essential for overall health.
Detoxification and Renewal: The Snake's ability to shed its skin symbolises detoxification and renewal. Herbal teas, cleansing diets, and supportive therapies can help the body eliminate toxins and reset for the Year ahead.
Alignment with Nature: Natural health care emphasises seasonal living, which is deeply connected to the philosophy of the Chinese New Year. By eating seasonally, adjusting our routines to the rhythms of nature, and using plant-based remedies, we stay in harmony with the changing energy of the Year.

Simple Natural Health Practices for the Year of the Snake
To fully embrace the transformative energy of the Snake and prioritise natural health, consider these simple yet powerful practices:
Herbal Remedies: Incorporate herbs like ginseng for energy, goji berries for immunity, and chrysanthemum tea for calming effects. These traditional ingredients can help to support overall well-being and balance.
Mindful Movement: Engage in tai chi, qigong, or yoga to build strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. These practices promote the graceful and deliberate energy associated with the Snake.
Meditation and Journaling: Take time to reflect on your goals, dreams, and inner wisdom. Meditation and journaling can help you align with the Snake's intuitive and contemplative spirit.
Seasonal Nutrition: Enjoy warming foods during the winter months, such as soups, ginger, and garlic, to nourish your body and maintain vitality.
Acupuncture and Massage: These therapies enhance energy flow, reduce stress, and support physical and emotional balance. Regular treatments can help you stay aligned throughout the Year.

As we celebrate the Lunar New Year and welcome the Year of the Snake, let us honour its call for transformation, balance, and wisdom. By integrating natural health care into our lives, we can align with the Snake's energy, achieve greater harmony, and pave the way for a year of vitality and renewal.
Happy Chinese New Year! May the Year of the Snake bring you wisdom, health, and abundant joy.

I thought this week would be a little challenging emotionally but what a beautiful fertility related week it has turned out to be in clinic. Two acupuncture babies safely arrived into the world - both conceived after doctors told my patients they were very high risk due to complicated health histories and would struggle to conceive naturally. Both fell pregnant straight away after acupuncture treatments and have had support throughout for nausea, vomiting, musculoskeletal issues and over the last few weeks preparing for labour. Can't wait to meet my little acubabies!

Plus two new positive pregnancy test results shared, a patient with pelvic girdle pain telling me she has been able to go for a long walk again without being doubled up in pain and another with severe morning sickness messaging to let me know she's starting to feel normal again.

It makes me feel so blessed to be able to support couples throughout their pregnancies and beyond. The lovely thank you cards here are just some of the messages I receive.

If you'd like to have a chat about whether acupuncture can help with your symptoms, please feel free to message me directly or contact Fiona on 07308 176914 to schedule in a consultation.

When I have patients come to me, a common response is "I didn't realise you were going to ask me so many questions" and "you're very thorough, I wasn't expecting this at all".

As a degree level acupuncture practitioner, I question all the symptoms my patients are presenting with, not just the main complaint. This helps me to determine how the symptoms have come about and formulate my individualised treatment strategy.

There is no one size fits all.

I have a special interest in Parkinson’s Disease as my late father struggled with the condition at times so it was my absolute pleasure and honour today to run a Qi Gong session for the Kensington and Chelsea Parkinson’s support group focussing on stress, anxiety and breath work.

It was lovely to see so many people attend the group in person as we have all become used to Zoom or video calls now . Some of the attendees hadn’t been able to get to a meeting since before lockdown so there were many happy faces and hugs. ā¤ļø

This week in clinic I have had a higher than usual number of cases of couples trying to conceive. Infertility is not just a female issue - men account for around half of all infertility problems – and with male infertility rates reportedly on the rise,
sometimes it's not easy to talk about what goes on between the sheets or down south. But, with infertility affecting around 1 in 6 couples in the UK, it’s time to break the silence.

There is a real lack of support for men experiencing male fertility issues and although appointments allow my patient to open up and speak about their fears worries and concerns, many men have not found it easy to speak out, so I have directed many of them to this resource. The HIMfertility campaign was set up by comedian Rhod Gilbert, to encourage men to talk about fertility problems and signpost them and their partners to much-needed support with monthly webinars, fact sheets and a closed facebook group

My story

I am an integrated Five Elements and Traditional Chinese Medicine health practitioner with clinics in Kew, Chelsea, Egham and Staines. This integrated approach allows me to treat my patients holistically and promoting natural healing by encouraging the body into a state of balance. I treat a wide range of conditions and each treatment plan is tailored to the individual. I specialise in all aspects of fertility, obstetrics and gynaecology plus have a special interest in the treatment of migraines and headaches having suffered from these personally and experiencing the benefits that acupuncture can bring. I am a member of the Cosmetic Acupuncture network, the London Acupuncture for Conception and Childbirth team, part of the Complementary Support Therapists UK group that support trauma work and also homeless charities offering NADA ear acupuncture protocol treatments to clients and volunteers.

From my corporate background, I have an interest in stress management and since graduating have been incorporating other modalities so that treatments are supported well with diet, exercise and lifestyle recommendations.

I offer free 15 minute consultations at each of the clinics I work at and am very happy to answer any questions about how acupuncture can help.
