Today the puddleducks enjoyed exploring the chia seed sensory play in the garden. They used the pots and pans to scoop up the water and seeds and then tipped the pots to empty them. The children also enjoyed splashing around in the water with their hands to feel the different textures of the chia seeds. Lots of fun was had!

The Tiggywinkles enjoyed exploring different textures and smells in our sensory tray. The children liked feeling the playdough and smelling the lemon plant. We encouraged the children to make the sounds of the different animals to help with their communication and language. We even sang a few animal nursery rhymes to the babies.

Today in the Puddleducks we have had so much fun making marks using different size paint brushes and sponges. We have explored the texture of the paint on our body; arms, feet and legs. We have been practicing our fine and gross motor skills by the way we held the paint brushes.
We used a range of different language including numbers and colours to expand our vocabulary. We also mixed colours and practiced turn taking.

After learning about the importance of worms, our little adventurers went on a welly walk to hunt for worms. The binoculars allowed us to observe the worms more closely. We held the worms we found and sang 'There's a worm at the bottom of my garden', before putting them back in to a dark and warm home.

Today we celebrated St Georges Day in the Puddleducks and had a special snack of scones, jam and clotted cream. The children all enjoyed trying this. We took part in some messy craft activities and made flags by squeezing out the glue, then spreading it over the paper. We carefully chose sequins and glitter to add to our picture using fine motor skills. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿
