Its has been a rewarding day in so many ways , but also a truly tough and emotional one tonight. The personal messages I have received from clients today who truly value my classes on both a physical and emotional level reaffirms that my new 'retirement career ' wasxthe best choice. However, the value Pilates and Yoga classes pe9 drs to individuals is not seen by one of the gyms I work for and valued in the same way. Even sadder is hearing a beautiful lady in the wellness industry that I saw on Sunday, that felt she couldn't cope anymore in the world we live. Devastating news for her loved ones, friends, and family. ❣️ Community based groups are so helpful to support many around us who feel troubled, alone and Isolated ..in a world where we all live through the factions world of social media. It is tough to run Community classes for sure, but they do make such a positive difference to people's lives. Please continue to support the real world you live in ..so we all can continue to benefit from human connection.

One of the things I love most about my Pilates classes is the mix of people.

Some are brand new to exercise.
Some are returning after injury.
Some simply want to stay strong and mobile as they get older.

And every single one of them proves the same thing:

I am still reflecting on my experience of my 121 Pilates session with Virginia MCGowan Brown, who owns Acclaim Pilates. When I embarked on my Pilates teacher training two years ago, I became curious to continue deepening my knowledge of this practice. After a year of teaching, I now feel embedded in the foundations of Pilates and mesmerized by the positive impact it has on my clients. By deepening my own practice, I am able to continue refining my teaching and guidance to clients. Virginia has a wealth of knowledge and a beautiful approach to how she delivers this through the 121's I have with her, which also allows me to improve my muscular imbalances and mobility.

The 34 Classical Pilates Exercises are the original sequence created by Joseph Pilates. They form the foundation of the Pilates method and were designed as a complete system to strengthen, mobilise and balance the entire body.

Unlike random exercises, the 34 movements are performed in a specific order so that each exercise prepares the body for the next. Together they work to improve:

✨ Core strength and stability
✨ Spinal mobility and flexibility
✨ Postural alignment
✨ Coordination and body awareness
✨ Breath control and mind–body connection

The sequence begins with foundational movements such as The Hundred and Roll Up, gradually progressing into more challenging exercises that require strength, control, and flow.

Joseph Pilates described his method as “Contrology”, emphasising the idea that movement should be performed with precision, concentration and control rather than repetition alone.

The goal of the 34 exercises isn’t just physical fitness — it’s to help the body move more efficiently, with strength, ease and balance in everyday life.

In my Pilates classes I draw inspiration from this classical system, adapting exercises so people of all abilities can experience the benefits of this powerful method. 💫 The benefits I know you feel after every class.
