Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) is a well-evidenced based approach for managing many health problems, including menopausal symptoms. It is recommended by NICE guidance as a treatment option for anxiety experienced by women during the menopause transition and post menopause.

Studies have shown that CBT can help women have a better quality of life.

Our CBT therapist Kate is very experienced at delivering CBT for women struggling with menopausal symptoms, as well as for anxiety, stress and low mood.

Our women’s health dietitian, Emily, uses the latest evidence-based nutrition and health science and translates this into practical and tailored advice so that you don’t have to spend hours filtering out the truth.

Emily graduated from Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh and has worked within specialist diabetes and weight management services within the NHS. She has also completed several courses in behavioural change and is a Level 2 fitness instructor.

Emily brings that essential holistic approach to health. Passionate about providing person-centred care, she considers all aspects of an individual’s life to provide personalised, evidence-based nutrition and lifestyle support and guidance.

Our nutrition appointments provide a safe and non-judgemental space for you to be heard. Beyond nutrition, we also consider movement, sleep and stress which can all impact our wellbeing and our behaviours.

As a dedicated women's health hub, Willow Health is committed to supporting our community’s well-being.

The Westerton Arms is proudly backing this innovative initiative to promote greater awareness and access through the community period partnership. Dr Colquhoun, Director and Owner of Willow Health, said: "We believe in fostering a supportive and empowered community. Through our Community Period Partnership, we’re teaming up with local businesses to provide free period products in their customer toilets.

Together we aim to make essential products more accessible, reduce stigma, and encourage open conversations around women's health. United, we can create a caring environment where women feel seen, heard, and supported with their health."

Sometimes the simple act of kindness to yourself or someone else is enough to shift your mood.

Being kind doesn’t have to mean grand gestures. It can be as small as offering help, sending a friendly message, or taking a moment to treat yourself with some compassion. Research shows these tiny actions can reduce stress, boost self-esteem and strengthen our sense of belonging.

If you’re having a tough day:�• Give someone a smile or a kind word�• Pause and say something gentle to yourself “It’s okay, you’re doing your best”�• Notice that you don’t have to “be perfect” showing up and caring is already meaningful

Remember: kindness is a gift to others, and a gift to you. 🥰
