Important Update: Newcastle Surgery Closure and Temporary Changes to Appointments

We would like to inform patients that our Newcastle site will be closing today.

Six months ago, we accepted notice to vacate the building, as we had a confirmed relocation date to move into our new premises at Bridgend Health & Wellbeing Centre in early April. Unfortunately, this move has been delayed due to circumstances outside of the practice’s control.

We have been notified of these delays at short notice, which has significantly limited our ability to secure alternative accommodation to continue operating at our usual capacity.
As a result, there will be a temporary reduction in clinical space, with the loss of five consulting rooms until we are able to relocate.
During this period, there may be reduced availability for face-to-face appointments. However, we will continue to provide care and support through our other sites, as well as telephone and online consultations where appropriate.

We appreciate your patience and understanding during this time and will share further updates as soon as a confirmed moving date is available.

Ovarian Cancer Awareness is a reminder to know the symptoms and act early.

Symptoms can be vague and may include:

- persistent bloating
- tummy pain
- feeling full quickly
- needing to wee more often
- unexplained changes in appetite

If you notice ongoing symptoms that are unusual for you, it’s important to speak to your GP. When discussing symptoms, let your doctor know about any family history of cancer, not just ovarian cancer and not only in parents or siblings, as this can help assess your overall risk.

Keeping up to date with cervical screening when invited is also an important part of protecting your gynaecological health. Early action can make a real difference. 🎗️💙🩺✨
