๐ŸŽ—๏ธ ADHD Awareness Month - October is here! Whether you're newly considering ADHD or already navigating life with it - youโ€™re not alone. ADHD is a neurodevelopmental condition that can manifest as inattention, impulsivity, hyperactivity, or all three - presenting differently across individuals and across life stages

Seeking clarity? Begin with ADHD UKโ€™s About ADHD page, offering videos from specialists and a self-screener for adults

ADHD UK also hosts peer support groups, expert-led sessions, and an online marketplace of coaches and tools to help with day-to-day challenges

Why it matters:

โ€ข Diagnoses are rising - not because ADHD is increasing, but because awareness is growing and stigma is lifting
โ€ข But many still wait long months - even years - for NHS assessments - access remains unequal
โ€ข Misinformation online can confuse rather than clarify. Trusted sources like ADHD UK are key

๐ŸŽ€ October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month - a time to learn, support, and advocate for everyone affected ๐Ÿ’–

๐Ÿ” Men, donโ€™t ignore changes in your chest or ni**le - although less common, breast cancer can still occur in men
๐Ÿณ๏ธโ€โšง๏ธ Trans and nonbinary people: your risks and body may change with hormone therapy or surgeries - always feel empowered to ask for care and checkups

๐Ÿ“ข Important Notice to Our Patients

We are currently experiencing extremely high demand for appointments, while also being significantly short-staffed due to staff illness. This is creating a very challenging environment for our team, who are doing their absolute best to support everyone.

We kindly ask that you consider whether your request is urgent for that day, or if your needs could be met by another service such as your local pharmacy or NHS 111. This helps us prioritise care for those who need it most.

Once all available appointments for the day have been allocated, we are unable to offer more unless it is a genuine emergency for that day, and we appreciate your understanding and cooperation in these circumstances.

Unfortunately, we have seen a worrying increase in verbal abuse towards our staff. This is not acceptable under any circumstances. Our team deserves to work in a safe, respectful environment, especially when under such pressure.

๐Ÿ™ Please treat our staff with kindness. They are here to help and are working tirelessly under incredibly difficult conditions.

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’ฅ What is Rheumatoid Arthritis? Professor David Scott, Consultant Rheumatologist, explains it clearly:

Rheumatoid arthritis (RA) is a chronic inflammatory autoimmune condition that primarily affects the joints - especially in the hands and feet ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿฆถ. It can cause pain, swelling, stiffness, and fatigue, and it can deeply impact daily life ๐Ÿ˜“

But hereโ€™s the good news - with the right treatment and support, RA doesnโ€™t have to define you. You can still work, stay active, and live well ๐Ÿ’ช๐ŸŒˆ

๐Ÿง ๐Ÿ’ฌ This World Mental Health Day, letโ€™s take a moment to check in on each other - a simple conversation can make a world of difference ๐ŸŒโค๏ธ

Hereโ€™s how to support someone who might be struggling:
1๏ธโƒฃ Find a quiet space with no distractions - be fully present ๐Ÿค
2๏ธโƒฃ Listen without interrupting and ask thoughtful questions ๐Ÿ‘‚โ“
3๏ธโƒฃ Ask how you can help - it might be booking a GP appointment, helping with chores, or just being there ๐Ÿซถ

๐Ÿ“ฑ Remember: social media isnโ€™t always real.
Feeling low? Itโ€™s OK to log off. Itโ€™s OK to not be OK all the time.
Less screen time = more time to breathe, reflect, and reset ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’š
