This Accessit Stereo spring reverb was sent directly for service following an auction site purchase by the customer. The system comprises of 3 component parts interconnected with 5 pin din (midi) cables, all pins wired.
Pots cleaned, circuit boards & components inspected, some soldering reworked. Spring trays secured with foam blocks for shipping but will require removal by the customer upon receipt. Reverb tanks don't travel well by post 😔. One spring was disconnected when I received the units.
PSU plug top replaced & correctly wired & fused.

Fender Hotrod had intermittent reverb.
Root cause was the poorly fitting phono plugs on the reverb tank. Someone's attempt to secure them with wire wraps was unsuccessful so I replaced the plugs.

Straightened the chassis of the Mesa Boogie Lone Star following an unsuccessful journey with a courier service 😞.
The chassis is aluminium but fortunately had welded corners which probably prevented worse deformity when obviously dropped. The weight of the two large transformers shifted the chassis out of alignment with the the casing apertures.

Finally got around to replacing the electrolytic capacitors in the Sony STR6200F receiver.

Kit guitar brought in for assembly. Body & neck apparently purchased from China.
This definitely wasn't intended for an inexperienced builder. Neck requires gluing in & the heel and pocket are not machined correctly. The neck required tilting back considerably to get anywhere near a playable action.
The bridge posts require drilling in in the correct position. Using my jig I am able to string up & move the bridge around to achieve correct scale length, intonation and string /neck alignment before committing to drilling in the posts. What this also highlights is the fact that the pickup pockets are out of position because to achieve good string/pole piece alignment the pickup requires pushing hard against one end of the pocket. It isn't possible to remove anymore material for increased clearance because the pickup ring will not cover the pocket end.
Definitely not one for the beginner.

Alesis RA150 power amplifier repair following a shorted output to its own input 🙄😔.
Amazingly it only opened a single resistor which when replaced totally restored proper operation. Removal of the channel amplifier module was required but fortunately didn't require removal of the board.

Peavey Mini Mega 1000W bass head.
Brought in blowing rear panel fuse.
No visible damage but startup on current limiter shows definite high current draw immediately it reaches 110vac input.
Removal of the power supply / amplifier board revealed a screw floating around below the board. Second image shows the offending screw & it can be seen on the top right of the front panel pcb where it came from. It has obviously shorted something.
Owner says the amp has never been opened since its purchase as a new amp so possibly not correctly tightened at manufacture.

Boss ME10 no2 'decapitated' 😂
All SMD electrolytic caps removed for replacement. I appears that most of these Boss units are now failing due to failed, (leaky electrolyte) electrolytic capacitors.
This is the second unit for this customer who has five of these units that have
failed.
The first was a total success so this unit is being reworked too as a backup.
These things have been about since 1992 so failed electrolytic capacitors are not really a unexpected.
