Bless ‘em all, bless ‘em all….🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧. What a day! We have so many people to thank for helping us transform our Coffee Shop into a vibrant, atmospheric 80th anniversary VE Day street party celebration. So here goes….

Belinda and Mitch HICKMAN who drove their military Humber over especially for us.

Clive GWILT for giving such an interesting talk about how the war had an impact on Bridgnorth.

Kirsty HURST-KNIGHT who gave an overview of the British Legion and would like to hear from any local veterans who wish to become members of the reformed Bridgnorth branch. You can join by going online at www.britishlegion.org.

Members of staff from the hospital.

Safer Neighbourhood Team Officers from Bridgnorth and Broseley & Wenlock.

Harry LEWIS who at the tender age of 16 graduated yesterday at RAF Halton. Thank you Harry for chatting to some of the veterans present.

A small group of local veterans.

Bridgnorth’s very own AB Ukulele Band for providing the afternoon entertainment.

Dave COOPER for taking loads of photographs for us.

ALL of our volunteers and members who made such an effort behind the scenes to make this event happen especially Verena, Bill and Bryan, our very own Winston CHURCHILL. Thanks for being such sports allowing us to replicate some of the iconic images from back in the day too. That kiss and the balcony scene!

Finally a massive thank you to everyone who came down and celebrated with us. We really do appreciate your support.

What a brilliant sing-a-long session we had in our Butterfly Cafe this afternoon led by Alison and Jo who provided the music and managed to get everyone involved. Thanks so much both. We have spaces available for anyone living with memory loss and their friends and family which we would love to fill in both our Butterfly Cafe held on the 1st Friday of the month and our Talking Tables informal get together on the 3rd Friday of the month. Just turn up for a warm, friendly welcome.
