About 3 in 10 adults in Somerset have high blood pressure but 1 in 10 don’t know it. It is a major risk factor for Cardiovascular Disease, and significantly increases the risk of having a heart attack or stroke, but early diagnosis and treatment can help people live longer, healthier lives.

Blood pressure monitors are free to loan from any Somerset library. The devices can be borrowed for 2 weeks by any adult library member, so that you can make regular checks at home over this period.

Autumn/Winter COVID campaign will run from 1 October 2025 to 31 January 2026

If you are recorded as a housebound patient aged 75 or over, or are recorded as immunosuppressed, you will be contacted by the Somerset Foundation Trust (SFT) Vaccination Outreach Team to book your housebound appointment.

Please note SFT will be prioritising care home residents at the start of the campaign, but they will contact you before 31 January 2026 to arrange your vaccination.

Please don’t worry if you receive a reminder from NHS England before we have contacted you - this is a national message and does not mean you have been missed.

Your vaccination needs are held locally within the Somerset system, and you will be contacted before 31 January 2026 to arrange your vaccination.

If you would like us to confirm that you are coded as housebound on our system, our staff can check this for you.

✨ Cervical Screening – Now Easier to Book & Track! ✨

If you’re due for your cervical screening, you can now book your appointment quickly and easily through your patient app 📲 – no need to call the surgery!

And there’s more good news...

📢 From September, NHS England will start sending cervical screening results directly to patients via the NHS App.

✅ If your result is negative, you’ll receive a notification in your NHS App.

🕒 If the notification isn’t opened within 72 hours, a letter will still be sent to your address.

📩 Any abnormal results will continue to be sent by letter.

👉 We strongly encourage everyone to download the NHS App and turn on notifications so you never miss an update about your health.
