🌼 Hayfever bothering you? Your pharmacy can help! 🌼

Sneezing, itchy eyes, a runny or blocked nose… hayfever season is here again. The good news is that most hayfever symptoms don’t require a GP appointment.

Your local pharmacy can offer quick advice and recommend effective treatments such as antihistamines, nasal sprays, and eye drops to help relieve symptoms.

Pharmacists are highly trained healthcare professionals and can help you choose the right treatment for you – often without the need for an appointment.

If your symptoms are mild to moderate, pop into your local pharmacy and speak to the team. It’s quick, convenient, and you’ll get the help you need.

🌿 Save your GP time for more serious conditions – your pharmacy is here to help with hayfever.

💛 March is Endometriosis Awareness Month 💛

As a GP practice, we want to take a moment to highlight endometriosis — a condition that affects 1 in 10 women and those assigned female at birth, yet is often misunderstood or dismissed.

Endometriosis occurs when tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows elsewhere in the body, commonly around the pelvis. It can cause:
• Pelvic pain (often severe)
• Painful periods
• Pain during or after s*x
• Fertility difficulties
• Fatigue and bowel or bladder symptoms

For many, symptoms can have a significant impact on daily life — affecting work, education, relationships, and mental wellbeing. Sadly, the average time to diagnosis in the UK is still several years.

At our practice, we want you to know:
✔️ Your pain is real
✔️ You deserve to be heard
✔️ Support and treatment options are available

If you are experiencing ongoing pelvic pain, very heavy or painful periods, or symptoms that feel “not quite right,” please don’t suffer in silence. Book an appointment with one of our GPs to talk things through.

This March, let’s raise awareness, reduce stigma, and support those living with endometriosis. 💛

🌸 Breast Screening in Your Area 🌸
The Somerset Breast Screening Service is now screening locally, and we want to help make sure everyone who is eligible gets their routine mammogram.
If you have not received your 3‑yearly breast screening appointment by 26 April, or if you are 53 years old and haven’t yet been invited, please scan the QR code on the poster or visit:
To book an appointment, please call: 01823 342425
Weekend appointments may also be available for those who work.
Regular breast screening helps detect issues early, when treatment is more effective. Thank you for taking the time to book your mammogram — it really does make a difference. 🩷

Over 70? Breast Screening – It’s Your Choice

Breast screening can save lives by finding cancer early. However, as we get older, screening is more likely to detect cancers that would never have caused harm. This can lead to unnecessary treatments such as surgery, radiotherapy or hormone tablets.

Because the balance of benefits and risks changes after 70, women aged 71+ are no longer automatically invited for screening. You can still choose to continue — simply self-refer every 3 years by calling Somerset Breast Screening on 01823 342425 (9am–4:30pm).

It’s also important to stay breast aware:
✔️ Know how your breasts normally look and feel
✔️ Check them monthly
✔️ See your GP if you notice any changes

For more information, visit the NHS website.

Please share to help spread awareness 💗

📱We have had a mobile phone handed into us this morning by a patient who found it on the wall in our car park. There is a name on the back so, if you believe it belongs to you, please come and collect it from reception with proof of name 🙂

Thank you

🌸 Introducing Our Memory Wall – Hearts of Hope 🌸

We’ve created a special space in our practice where you can share a message of kindness, appreciation, love or support 💕

Whether it’s a note for someone going through a tough time, a message of gratitude, or a simple reminder of hope – every word matters.

📝 How it works:

1. Pick up one of the colourful message cards
2. Write your message of love, hope or appreciation
3. Pop it into the green tray
4. We’ll pin it up on the Memory Wall for others to see 💗

Let’s fill this wall with positivity and support for one another ✨
Together, small gestures can make a big difference 💞
