🐣 A Very Special Welcome at Our Home! 🐣

We were so excited to welcome 5 adorable baby chicks into our home this week! 💛

What makes this even more special is that these little ones are the babies of our very own chickens from last year — a lovely full-circle moment that everyone has enjoyed being part of 🥰

Residents have loved watching them, chatting about them, and seeing new life up close. Such a gentle, joyful experience for all 🌼

Following our recent residents’ meeting, a special outing was planned to one of their favourite places — Monkton Elm Garden Centre 🌼

It was a wonderful day, with everyone enjoying the sunshine, a change of scenery, and a lovely lunch together. Trips like these mean so much and create truly special memories for our residents. 🌞 🍽️

A huge thank you to the team at Monkton Elm Garden Centre for their quick and friendly service, and an even bigger thank you to our amazing staff who made the trip possible. 👏

We recently came together to celebrate and say a fond farewell to Mel, who is leaving after an incredible 28 years with Somerset Care. 💙

It was a lovely (and very emotional) leaving party, with both staff and residents joining together to thank Mel for her dedication, kindness, and years of hard work. She will be greatly missed by everyone.

We wish Mel all the very best for the future and every success in the next chapter of her journey. Good luck, Mel—you’ll always be part of the family. 🌟

On Friday, we held a “Wear Your PJs to Work Day” in support of Pancreatic Cancer awareness. 💜

Both staff and residents got involved, making it a fun and meaningful day for everyone. From cosy outfits to lots of smiles, it was a wonderful way to come together while supporting such an important cause.

Thank you to everyone who took part and helped make the day so special! 👏

We are incredibly proud of Kate, our Activities Lead, who will be running the Bristol Half Marathon on Sunday 10th May. 🏃‍♀️

Kate has chosen to take on this challenge in support of Harvey, a young boy local to us. His story has touched many hearts, and this run is a meaningful way to show support and raise awareness. ❤️

We recently received some truly lovely letters from the pupils of Hamp Nursery and Infants School . 😍

Our residents have thoroughly enjoyed sitting together to read each message and admire the wonderful drawings and photos the children shared. It has brought so many smiles and sparked some really special conversations. 🤩

In return, the residents have been busy writing replies to every letter with care and enthusiasm. We’re now looking forward to hand delivering these back to the school, along with a few sweet treats for the children to enjoy. 😋

A heartfelt thank you to the pupils and staff for such a thoughtful exchange — it has been a joy for everyone involved. ❤️

There’s been lots of excitement in the home this week 👑✨

Sue, our Home Manager, has been sharing her very special invitation to Buckingham Palace for afternoon tea with the King – and it certainly got everyone talking! 🤩

Residents were fascinated to hear how Sue received such an honour, with plenty of curiosity… They’ve already decided they’ll be helping Sue choose the perfect outfit for her big day. 😊 👗

We tried something new this week… and it was a big hit! 🎾✨

Our residents had an amazing time taking part in Bubble Tennis – lots of laughs, plenty of movement, and a great way to stay active together. It’s safe to say this one will definitely be back again!

It’s always wonderful to see everyone getting involved, trying new things, and having so much fun 💙
