BWH TO CELEBRATE NURSES DAY 🥳🥳🥳

On the 12th of May we will be proudly celebrating Nurses Day in the foyer at BWH. Please join us for coffee, cake and conversation. All staff are welcome.

This is to celebrate the work of all of our nurses both unregistered and registered at the hospital, but also to celebrate the work of all nurses across the world.

To all our Nurses and nursing teams which use BWH as their base, THANK YOU for everything you do 🍰🎂🎈

DIAGNOSTIC CENTRE COMING TO LIFE!

With over 90% of the work completed, Bridgwater diagnostic centre is looking amazing. Work has started today on the landscaping so will soon by looking fantastic inside and out.

Recruitment for the centre is almost complete and there is real excitement around it opening. This will make a big difference to thousands of local patients who will no longer have to travel miles for their scan. 😀🤩😀

The Easter Bunny kindly brought some cheer to Waverley Ward this morning. The bunny, who bears a distinct resemblance to our PAT dog, Dudley brought smiles to the faces of all who met him on the ward this morning.

Yesterday BWH hosted an internship information morning, which was led by Bridgwater College and the organisation, Discovery. This came out of the successful internship scheme currently running at BWH 🙏😊

BWH INTERNS ON BBC POINTS WEST

On Tuesday evening of this week, our internship for young people who have a learning disability or are neurodiverse in partnership with the organisation Discovery, the nursing nursing home Casa Di Lusso and Bridgwater college, was featured on BBC Points West.

Please take a couple of minutes to watch this inspiring video. All at BWH are proud of our interns who are a credit to the hospital.

THANK YOU HAYLEY 🙏

Another successful Memory Café took place at BWH yesterday. This is now a well established and well loved event happening once a month at our hospital. The café gives people living with dementia a chance to meet, take part in activities, talk and laugh.

The idea came from Hayley, a healthcare assistant, at BWH. Hayley has a passion for delivering high quality, person centred care for all patients and has a special interest in helping people living with dementia.

Hayley, with the help of colleagues Elaine and Hilary, has been delivering the café for over a year now. After this café, she is stepping down from the running of the café as it is now so well established. Last year Hayley won colleague of the year at Somerset NHS Trust awards, the OSCAs, for her amazing work with café.

All at BWH would like to thank Hayley for this inspiring work and commitment, which has brought happiness and benefit to the café guests.

Thank you Hayley, and very well done 😊🙏

TRULY AMAZING! 🤩

These are pictures from this morning at the diagnostic centre, and the progress is truly amazing. The building is awesome inside and out and will be of huge benefit to the Bridgwater community. It’s modern styling makes it a state of the art facility equipped with incredibly high specification imaging equipment.

BW would like to thank the construction team, Actiform, for their ongoing work and being truly considerate constructors.

Well done so far to all involved 🙏
