Dear Patient,
We are writing to inform you of an important update regarding our repeat prescription process. As part of our ongoing commitment to improving efficiency and supporting a more environmentally friendly approach, we will soon be discontinuing the acceptance of paper prescription requests.
This change is part of our transition to an electronic prescribing system, which we aim to fully implement by 1st July 2025.
Why We Are Making This Change:
We frequently encounter the following issues with paper prescription requests:
· Missing pages
· Unclear markings (e.g., ticks or crosses), which can lead to medication errors
· Illegible handwriting
· No audit trail (unlike electronic systems)
· Longer processing times
· Hygiene concerns
Switching to electronic processing helps eliminate these issues. The process becomes quicker, more accurate, and safer for both patients and staff.
What This Means for You:
We kindly ask that you do not submit paper requests for repeat prescriptions. Additionally, we ask that patients avoid calling the office for prescription requests unless absolutely necessary. Instead, we encourage you to use one of the following convenient and secure online methods:
How to Request Prescriptions Online: Please visit our website: www.drsreddyandnunn.nhs.uk. From the homepage, you will find several options for requesting repeat prescriptions: 1. Create an NHS Account via the NHS website or the NHS App
2. Use SystmOnline (if you're already registered)
3. Submit a request through our online form
By creating an NHS account, you can request, track, and manage your prescriptions with ease. For more information, please refer to the following resources: · About the NHS App – NHS · Take charge of your health with the NHS App
We also host regular NHS App training sessions throughout the town. Upcoming session dates will be posted on our website and our page.
