One of the people living with us at White Rose Lodge had a fun shopping afternoon in Bridlington town and chose to have lunch at Boyes Cafe.

Boyes is a well-loved retailer that opened in 1881, and their cafe is a must to visit for the beautiful views of the town, the quaint museum that is full of historical memorabilia and the delicious steak pie! It was a real treat!

Here at White Rose Lodge, the lovely people living with us had a brilliant afternoon watching a local cricket match at Sewerby Pavillion whilst they played against Seamer & Irton CC.

It was a warm and sunny afternoon with lots More...Fresh Air, whilst we admired the wonderful sea views and Bridlington Bay. White Rose Lodge were special guests at this particular match, as we had sponsored the ball, and had a picture taken with the team!

We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who came and supported our Table Top Sale and Tombola last week.

The weather could have been better, but we still raised a fantastic £110 for the home and our activity fund, which goes towards special events for those living with us.

We will be hosting more sales and coffee mornings in the future, so keep a look out on our page!

Come and join us at White Rose Lodge on the 19th of August, between 11am and 2pm for our Yard Sale and Tombola!

Our stalls will be set in the garden, which is accessible from the front of the building and the cliff top.

There will be a tombola, jumble sale, diamond art stall and refreshments.

Whilst it was nice sunny weather, we held our Sports Day event out in the garden to enjoy some warm sunshine and More... Fresh Air!

We held several different rounds, featuring aeroplane throwing, javelin, hoop toss and bat and ball. Part of our More...Movement programme, these physical games were great for arms and hands, as well as improving coordination and strength. Participants were awarded a special keep-sake medal at the end for their efforts!

We would like to say a big thank you to the Christ Church volunteers, who provided a wonderful service for the people living with us on Sunday.

They are passionate and caring in what they do and share it with those living at White Rose Lodge. The prayers, blessings and hymns are very well received. A few notable hymns included 'All Things Bright and Beautiful', 'What a Friend We Have in Jesus' and 'Shine Jesus Shine', perfect for More...Connection!

We are very pleased to present our amazing care assistant, Jade, with employee of the month for June.

Jade has been nominated by staff, residents and families. She has been awarded this due to her positive attitude, friendly and welcoming personality, and has helped new staff members settle in.

Jade has been described by residents and families as a breath of fresh air and always puts a smile or people's faces. Well Done!

To celebrate Hawaiian Culture Day, we held a special BBQ garden party with a delicious buffet in our summerhouse.

It was a joyful event filled with traditional Hawaiian music and themed decorations, not forgetting the garlands and leis, which everyone could wear. Tropical drinks were also on the menu alongside some refreshing fruit and ice cream for dessert.

It was lovely to see so many friends and family members also join in the fun whilst supporting their loved ones, all enjoying More...Fresh Air.

To celebrate English Wine Week at the end of June, we held a special wine and cheese afternoon for those living with us here at White Rose Lodge.

Some of the cheese on offer included Cheddar, Red Leicester, Double Gloucester and Philadelphia to cater for all tastes. The wine was also a delicious and refreshing tipple to complement the savoury flavours. The people living with us had a fabulous time!

Over the weekend, we've had plenty of amazing entertainment at White Rose Lodge.

On Saturday we had a very special concert by BridBeat, who sing to fundraise for local charities. The choir of eight sang a selection of hits, ranging from the 60's to the 80's, out in the garden whilst we could sit and enjoy More...Fresh Air out in the sunshine.

On Father's Day, we had a visit from the lovely Debi Sykes, who performed a medley of hits from the 60's and 70's, with some war-time songs too for good measure. She encourages everyone to sing along, and even had a few who dared to sing on the microphone! It was a fabulous afternoon which left lots of smiley faces!
