We are very pleased to present our amazing care assistant, Jade, with employee of the month for June.

Jade has been nominated by staff, residents and families. She has been awarded this due to her positive attitude, friendly and welcoming personality, and has helped new staff members settle in.

Jade has been described by residents and families as a breath of fresh air and always puts a smile or people's faces. Well Done!

To celebrate Hawaiian Culture Day, we held a special BBQ garden party with a delicious buffet in our summerhouse.

It was a joyful event filled with traditional Hawaiian music and themed decorations, not forgetting the garlands and leis, which everyone could wear. Tropical drinks were also on the menu alongside some refreshing fruit and ice cream for dessert.

It was lovely to see so many friends and family members also join in the fun whilst supporting their loved ones, all enjoying More...Fresh Air.

To celebrate English Wine Week at the end of June, we held a special wine and cheese afternoon for those living with us here at White Rose Lodge.

Some of the cheese on offer included Cheddar, Red Leicester, Double Gloucester and Philadelphia to cater for all tastes. The wine was also a delicious and refreshing tipple to complement the savoury flavours. The people living with us had a fabulous time!

Over the weekend, we've had plenty of amazing entertainment at White Rose Lodge.

On Saturday we had a very special concert by BridBeat, who sing to fundraise for local charities. The choir of eight sang a selection of hits, ranging from the 60's to the 80's, out in the garden whilst we could sit and enjoy More...Fresh Air out in the sunshine.

On Father's Day, we had a visit from the lovely Debi Sykes, who performed a medley of hits from the 60's and 70's, with some war-time songs too for good measure. She encourages everyone to sing along, and even had a few who dared to sing on the microphone! It was a fabulous afternoon which left lots of smiley faces!

Those living with us at White Rose Lodge had a lovely outing to the local garden centre at Eastfield!

We enjoyed a delicious lunch and a walk for More...Fresh Air around the shops. It was a very fun afternoon, despite the weather!

Here at White Rose Lodge, we have been making use of the nice weather by visiting our local cafes and ice cream spots for some Summer indulgence and More...Fresh Air.

We are so lucky to live next to the sea and have all the benefits that the seaside brings. Bridlington even had its Annual Kite Festival on the cliff top, which was a special treat.

Our recent VE Day celebrations were in full swing at White Rose Lodge with a garden party and buffet, reminiscent of the street parties that were held at the end of the war.

Our marquee was decorated with everything red, white and blue (even the drinks!) and the wartime music playing in the background lifted our spirits.

Those living with us at White Rose Lodge, relatives and staff members had a marvellous time and say it will be a day to remember!

Two ladies living with us at White Rose Lodge enjoyed a fancy latte at our local café, The Beach Hut.

We sat and chatted with our drinks whilst admiring the sea view. It was a lovely morning, and we had our daily dose of fresh sea air and sunshine on the way there and back.

As part of our celebration of different cultures at White Rose Lodge, we looked at all things Oriental by hosting an Asian inspired morning featuring special dresses and accessories. We completed a quiz together, watched some traditional dancing videos and listened to relaxing music. We opened our own fortune cookies for a bit of fun and revealed some surprising messages.

Here at White Rose Lodge, we've been getting into the spirit of Easter by hatching our very own chicks, courtesy of the Living Eggs Programme.

They started out as incubated eggs, and after a few days they began to hatch. We now have ten adorable and fluffy chicks which we can watch, hold and look after until Thursday 17th April.

Here at White Rose Lodge, we have been enjoying the gaming equipment in our lovely Sunflower Room.

There are many games available to play, ranging from cards and dominoes to table tennis or snooker. We adapted the table tennis using a balloon which worked out well and gave everyone a laugh during our More...Movement session.

This morning, we were testing our brain power with Tapple, an alphabet and category game for More...Thinking.
