We had our first Myley outing to a wonderful garden centre in Hornsea! It was quite chilly outside but we were warm indoors and treated to a wide range of shops featuring The Works, Pavers shoes, clothes, gifts and gardening supplies galore. We had a delicious warm meal in the cafe and chatted before heading back on the bus.

Our driver Paul was also fantastic and helped out if needed. It was highly recommended to go again in the future and everyone came back with a smile!

Happy New Year to everyone from White Rose Lodge!

We had a wonderful lunch on New Years Day with bucks fizz to celebrate a toast to a healthy and happy 2026. We watched fireworks from around the world and in London, just in case anyone missed them from the night before. We then reflected on the previous year and did a few quizzes to see what we could remember.

What a great start to January with a full year of activities to come!

The results are in! Thank you to everyone who voted in our Christmas Tree Extravaganza competition.

The winning tree was Number 1: Gingerbread Theme, wonderfully put together by our Domestic Team, who each won a prize for their efforts.

We would like to say to all of our followers - Happy New Year! Let's hope 2026 is a healthy and successful one for us all!

We recently turned our lounge room into a mini theatre to host our very own Christmas pantomime - Snow White! It was a traditional tale featuring an evil queen, a man in the mirror, a damsel in distress and a Herman with a bowel problem! Those living with us at White Rose Lodge, family members and staff were treated to a never-before seen version of the fairytale classic. Did they enjoy it? Oh yes, they did! Did you miss it? Boooo!

Our recent Christmas party at White Rose Lodge was a full day of fun, games and entertainment. We started the morning with some physical games like Candy Cane Javelin, Charades and Skittles. In the afternoon we continued More...movement with pass the parcel and plenty of dancing and singing with our entertainer Debi Sykes!

It really brought some festive cheer to those living with us at White Rose Lodge and all our staff members in the run up-to Christmas week.

Here at White Rose Lodge, we have an amazing team of colleagues who go above and beyond every day, however, each month we like to recognise a special "Employee of the Month" who has been nominated by other staff members, the people living with us and their family and friends.

For December, we would like to congratulate Linda, the home administrator, for all her efforts within the home. As admin, Linda is the first point of call for all visitors, ensuring that the home is running efficiently whilst answering the phone and juggling all of those jobs behind the scenes that we don't have to think about! We celebrated the morning with some yummy cakes for staff members that went down a treat. Well done Linda and thank you for all of your positivity!

Here at White Rose Lodge, we've kicked off the festive season with some friendly competition, in the form of a Christmas tree decorating contest! Everyone loves a Christmas tree, whether it's perfectly symmetrical or delightfully mismatched. Each department within the home had their own task to theme and decorate a tree to fill each space with twinkling magic. The question is: which tree would you vote for? Let us know in the comments!

For November, we would like to congratulate Sue, one of the Kitchen team members, for all her efforts within the home. As a chef, Sue has one of the hardest challenges day-to-day, making sure everyone is fed and happy whilst providing that special "hug on a plate". Well done and thank you Sue!

This month, we went all out glitz and glamour with a Las Vegas themed day as part of Celebrating Cultures.

We began the morning with "Play Your Cards Right" and a die throwing game. Our lunch was a special BBQ style buffet with American favourites such as burgers, hot dogs, doughnuts and milkshakes!

The afternoon was filled with music and laughter as we welcomed Gran Canaria Rob to the home for some amazing entertainment and sing-along. It was a wonderful day and much enjoyed by everyone living with us!

One of the people living with us at White Rose Lodge had a fun shopping afternoon in Bridlington town and chose to have lunch at Boyes Cafe.

Boyes is a well-loved retailer that opened in 1881, and their cafe is a must to visit for the beautiful views of the town, the quaint museum that is full of historical memorabilia and the delicious steak pie! It was a real treat!
