CERVICAL SCREENING RESULTS - IMPORTANT UPDATE
From September 2025, the NHS will start sending negative smear test results directly to users via the NHS App, with a postal letter acting as a failsafe if not read within 72 hours. Abnormal results will continue to be sent via post. To receive your results digitally, you must download the free NHS App and enable notifications for it and your phone.

How to Access Your Results
1. Download the NHS App:
Get it from your phone's app store and log in using your NHS Login credentials.
2. Enable Notifications:
Turn on notifications for the NHS App within the app's settings and in your phone's settings to ensure you receive alerts.
3. Find Your Result:
Negative results will appear as a message and notification in the app. Abnormal results will continue to be sent by letter.
4. Check for Your Letter:
If you don't read the message within 72 hours, a letter will be sent to your registered address as a backup.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
• Digital Transformation:
This change is part of a wider digital transformation of the NHS Cervical Screening Programme.
• Your GP Surgery:
Your GP surgery cannot change how results are delivered, as this is a national NHS program.
• View Your Health Record:
You can view your test results by going to "View your GP health record" from the main menu in the NHS App, then selecting "Test results".

This weekend, the Government will be testing their Emergency Alerts system, which is an important tool for reaching the public in emergency situations.

The test will take place at 3pm on Sunday (7 September). Compatible 4G and 5G mobile phones and tablets will receive an alert, make a loud siren-like sound and vibrate for about 10 seconds, even if it’s on silent. An alert message will appear on your device’s screen confirming this is a test and that you do not need to take any further action.

To discover more, or opt out if you need to, see: https://www.gov.uk/alerts/public-testing

We know it can be really tricky practicing self-care when everyone has such busy lives but by adding small and intentional habits, we can recharge our mind and body without making huge changes 💜

▪️Stay Connected - Mini check-ins with friends or family, via text or quick calls all supports emotional health📲

▪️Go Outside - Fresh air and natural light improves mood, can help reduce stress and increase our focus 🌅

▪️Say 'No' - Protect your energy by declining extra commitments when possible. Saying 'no' allows you to say 'yes' to prioritise some time for your health and wellbeing 🪷

▪️Use Tech to support, not stress - Set reminders for breaks, movement, or find a positive App to support wellbeing 🎧

▪️Seek Help When Needed - Whether it’s a friend, support group, or professional, asking for help is a vital part of self-care. Speak to others about how you feel. You matter 🩵
