🌐Autism Central is holding the webinar ‘What a “good life” might look like for autistic people with a learning disability’, at 12-1pm on Friday 5 June. This resource will help families learn what better everyday practice looks like for autistic people with a learning disability, and how they can make a positive difference in their daily life. Living with MS can sometimes feel isolating - which is why events like this are so important 💙

This June, the MS Society UK will be bringing people together at The Hinge Centre for a relaxed evening of conversation, connection and support.

Whether you’re living with MS yourself, supporting a loved one, or simply want to find out more about the help available locally, you’ll be warmly welcomed.

There’ll be the chance to meet others who understand, chat with local support services including The Hinge Centre team, Cafe Neuro and MS nurses, and hear about new developments from the MS Society.

And of course, there’ll be plenty of tea, coffee, cake and sandwiches too ☕🍰

North Bridlington Library is delighted to be opening its brand-new sensory room on Tuesday, 26 May!🥳

Created as part of the recent library redevelopment and funded through the Library Improvement Fund, the room offers a calm and welcoming environment featuring new sensory equipment, custom lighting, sounds and aromatherapy.

We’re really excited to be able to offer this wonderful new facility to the residents of Bridlington. The sensory room is a free, bookable space for library members, available to book over the phone or in person at the library.

Cervical Screening Results – Now Sent via the NHS App

From September 2025, the NHS will start sending results from the NHS Cervical Screening Programme directly to patients through the NHS App.

What this means for you:
If your cervical screening result is negative (normal), you will receive a secure message in your NHS App.

You will also see an NHS App notification.

If you don’t read the NHS App message within 72 hours, a letter will then be posted to you as a backup.

If your result is abnormal, you will continue to receive a letter by post for the time being.

Why the change?
This follows the successful rollout of digital invitations and reminders in June 2025, where 9 out of 10 patients received their invitations digitally through the NHS App. Moving results into the App helps provide:

Faster access to your results.

Reduced reliance on post.

Secure digital storage of your results in one place.

What you need to do:
Please ensure you have the NHS App downloaded and installed on your phone or device.

Make sure notifications are turned on, so you don’t miss important messages.

📣 Admiral Nurses visiting Bridlington Medical Centre

The Dementia Specialist Admiral Nurse team will be at Bridlington Medical Centre (Station Avenue) on Monday 18th May, from 8:30am – 12:00pm.

Come along to learn more about the inpatient dementia support services available at York and Scarborough Hospitals, and get advice and support for families affected by dementia.
No appointment needed – just drop in.
